Celebrating 25 years, the Laurel StreetFair brings a lively mix of music, dance, and community spirit from near and far. The main stage features Halau Makana with Polynesian dance, Nzuri Soul with soul and R&B, MJ’s Brass Boppers with traditional New Orleans brass, In Lak'ech Danza Azteca with Aztec dance, Bululú with tropical Latin sounds, Non-Stop Bhangra with Punjabi dance music, Bongo Sidibe with Guinean and West African dance, Duniya Dance & Drum Company with West African and South Asian drum and dance, and the Shabnam Bellydance Ensemble with Middle Eastern and Egyptian styles, plus more. First Presbyterian Church of San Leandro teams up with Rise Against Hunger for a hands-on volunteer event focused on packaging 10,000 meals for families facing hunger around the world. People of all ages are welcome, no experience is needed, and volunteers will work side by side with friends, relatives, and neighbors to assemble nutritious meals. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Organizers are seeking meal packaging volunteers, three to five helpers for setup and cleanup, and a few individuals able to lift up to 50 pounds. Registration is required.
