November STEAM Saturdays spotlight Fall-tastic, a seasonal set of simple, hands-on autumn crafts created for young learners and their families. Children can explore leaf rubbings, make thumbprint acorns with trees, design a playful paper plate pie, and experiment with apple stamping. These age-appropriate activities foster creativity, encourage noticing the natural world, and invite sensory exploration in a welcoming museum setting. Wind Warriors is a coaching pathway designed for newly licensed skydivers and students cleared for solo that helps translate wind tunnel skills into the sky. Sessions include complimentary guidance from Perris organizers, pairing structured tunnel time with real jump support. The focus is on sharpening core skills, building confidence, and forming connections with experienced coaches in both environments, all within Skydive Perris, home to a strong load organizing program. Participants receive free coaching from Perris LOs, with tips appreciated, and instruction continues from the tunnel into the air alongside the Perris L.O.s throughout the day. An optional breakfast sandwich with coffee or juice is available for an additional $10 plus tax, and the format follows a steady, supportive rhythm with recurring sessions. Rates are 10 minutes for $135 at $13.50 per minute, 20 minutes for $250 at $12.50 per minute, and 30 minutes for $360 at $12 per minute. Children can delve into the art of coil pottery in a hands-on clay activity created in honor of Native American Heritage Month. Young makers will shape and stack clay coils to build their own small pots while learning about one of the oldest ceramic techniques practiced by Indigenous cultures. As part of Second Saturdays, this relaxed and welcoming program is designed for families to create together, explore curiosity, and connect with science and culture in meaningful ways. The event takes place at Victor Valley Museum. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for military or seniors, $7 for students, and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. During this time, lighting is dimmed and overall sound is lowered to support a comfortable, low-sensory visit. The environment is especially welcoming for individuals with sensory sensitivities, including those on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing differences, and it is open to anyone who prefers a relaxed pace. Each month the education team introduces fresh sensory activities in a different exhibit space, which may include tactile exploration, art projects, or opportunities to handle natural materials related to the museum’s collections. Activities change monthly and are designed to spark curiosity, discovery, and playful learning in a supportive setting. Elmo and his Sesame Street pals take the stage in a brand new Sesame Street Live production filled with singing and dancing.
