Samba no Pé
Experience the pulse of Rio with Samba no Pé, a solo Brazilian samba celebrated in street celebrations and at Carnival. This class breaks down the hallmark quick, quick, slow basic step and shows how to layer expressive arms and hips for authentic style. Clear guidance on posture and technique supports safe, efficient movement so you can dance longer and faster with less strain. You will also learn to connect your steps to the irresistible beat of the samba drum section for true musicality. This session suits anyone seeking the vibrancy of Brazilian culture, improved coordination, and a lively workout while building solid fundamentals. No partner or previous dance experience is required. Wear comfortable shoes, avoid soles that mark the floor, and bring plenty of enthusiasm.
Awaken Your Shakti
A three hour evening invites the body to remember what the mind may have forgotten. This monthly gathering offers guided movement, meditation and sacred feminine embodiment for women who feel depleted and want to move from their own inner source. The experience is not ecstatic dance or yoga. It is a specific, layered, guided journey that traverses the full spectrum of feminine expression, from soft to fierce, from flowing to untamed, honoring both the light that opens and receives and the dark that burns, transforms and refuses to be contained. The session weaves Brazilian Zouk inspired movement with circles, spirals and hip flow, tantric somatic practices such as pelvic floor release, breath and sensory awakening, sacred feminine meditation and ritual, primal and expressive movement for the parts that do not need to be graceful, and nervous system regulation through sound, stillness and a reset for the vagus nerve. It speaks to givers who crave a space that is truly theirs, to those called to slow down, drop in and let the body lead, and to anyone in a season of transition or creative becoming who wants a container for both softness and fire. No dance experience is required and there is no performance element. Arrive exactly as you are. Leave feeling free, alive, empowered, sensual, creative and deeply connected to your own pleasure and power. Doors open 15 minutes before the session begins, and late arrivals may not be admitted. The space is drug and alcohol free and requests that attendees be fragrance free. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in, with no shoes and socks only. Facilitation is by Alina Mihai, a coach in embodied presence and conscious communication, a tantra practitioner and Brazilian Zouk dancer who supports women in reclaiming their full range.
