A three hour evening invites the body to remember what the mind may have forgotten. This monthly gathering offers guided movement, meditation and sacred feminine embodiment for women who feel depleted and want to move from their own inner source. The experience is not ecstatic dance or yoga. It is a specific, layered, guided journey that traverses the full spectrum of feminine expression, from soft to fierce, from flowing to untamed, honoring both the light that opens and receives and the dark that burns, transforms and refuses to be contained. The session weaves Brazilian Zouk inspired movement with circles, spirals and hip flow, tantric somatic practices such as pelvic floor release, breath and sensory awakening, sacred feminine meditation and ritual, primal and expressive movement for the parts that do not need to be graceful, and nervous system regulation through sound, stillness and a reset for the vagus nerve. It speaks to givers who crave a space that is truly theirs, to those called to slow down, drop in and let the body lead, and to anyone in a season of transition or creative becoming who wants a container for both softness and fire. No dance experience is required and there is no performance element. Arrive exactly as you are. He was born in Halifax, grew up in Southern California, and now lives in Nashville, touring constantly and often emerging as a surprise favorite at festivals. During and after the Gold Rush, it carried food, materials, and innovation to San Francisco and even overseas, shaping both local growth and wider markets. Centered in Petaluma, about 40 miles north of San Francisco, this experience highlights how the river helped build a city and continues to influence daily life. Led by the Floathouse Petaluma crew, the outing is beginner friendly and features about 90 minutes on the water within a relaxed two-hour window. Stable kayaks, all necessary gear, and expert guidance are included. Along the way, participants pause at landmarks such as grain elevators, footbridges, Victorian architecture, and riverside cafes while hearing a blend of historical, contemporary, and personal stories, including a bit of local news and gossip. The narrative explores how different generations have turned to the river in response to social, economic, and environmental currents, and how today’s choices are shaping the future. Week two of this short four week league features five rounds of group match play in a fast sprint format. Walk-in players are welcome. Presented by KC Turner, this stop on Eilen Jewell’s Farewell Tour features Misner & Smith and is part of the 13th annual Cookout Concert Series at HopMonk Novato’s outdoor venue, sponsored by JAMBAR. Jewell’s set draws from her album Get Behind The Wheel, created with multi-instrumentalist Will Kimbrough, expanding her roots sound into more atmospheric territory while reflecting on loss, resilience, and renewal. An Idaho-born road warrior across nine albums, she has toured internationally and shared stages with artists such as Lucinda Williams, Loretta Lynn, Mavis Staples, Wanda Jackson, George Jones, and Emmylou Harris, with wide praise from outlets including American Songwriter, Rolling Stone, NPR, and The Washington Post for her distinctive voice and writing. The audience area is mostly seated at ground level, with limited seating available on the lawn and at the top of the hill. The event is all ages, and every child needs a ticket. A one-way journey helped along by the outgoing tide carries participants from Petaluma’s downtown docks into the wetland reaches of San Pablo Bay. The route covers about six miles in stable, stay-dry Hobie pedal kayaks and passes through protected marshes that shelter egrets, herons, mallards, and other birdlife, offering a quieter view of the river’s hidden stretches. After landing at Lakeville Landing Marina, an optional 90-minute recovery session with Sundrop Sauna is available. This add-on cycles between a windowed sauna, an outdoor shower, and a pristine cold plunge, with cozy seating, hot tea, and wide wetland views. A changing room is provided. A grazing box from LaBella Charcuterie can be delivered to the finish, with regular, vegetarian, or vegan options. Choose the paddle only, combine the paddle with the sauna and cold plunge, or include all three elements. Pricing is $85 for the paddle, $40 for the sauna and cold plunge, and $15 for the grazing box. Capacity is limited for this collaboration. This level is for dancers who have completed Salsa Beginners 1 and feel comfortable with the basic step, left and right turns, a cross body lead, and holding a steady frame. Training focuses on guiding the cross body lead with inside and outside turns, refining the classic I turn, you turn pattern to sharpen timing and hand changes, gliding through space with a smooth walk-through that keeps the rhythm, and adding personality to shines with clear, confident footwork. Technique is a priority, including balanced tension and compression for clean lead and follow, ribcage and shoulder isolation for authentic movement, and an arm connection that feels weighted yet responsive. This monthly open mic welcomes musicians and singers of all ages and experience levels. It is free to attend, and there is no need to sign up in advance. Add your name when you arrive and entries go into a hat or djembe, with performers selected at random. KC Turner presents a matinee performance by The Rubinoos at the HopMonk Novato Session Room, with partial seating and admission open to all ages. Lifelong friends Jon Rubin and Tommy Dunbar began playing together as teens in Berkeley and soon signed with Beserkley Records alongside Jonathan Richman and Greg Kihn. Their 1977 self-titled debut brought national attention and drew acclaim from critics. Compete in a fast four week league sprint featuring five rounds of group match play. Walk-ins are welcome. The cost is $10, allocated as $5 entry, $4 toward the prize pool, and $1 to IFPA, plus coin drop. The series runs across four weeks, with finals taking place in a separate fifth week. To qualify for finals, take part in at least two tournaments. Pre-registration is encouraged and should include your preferred tournament date and your IFPA Player ID. The meetup offers a chance to connect with other baseball-loving Aggies from the North Bay while steering clear of city traffic. Attendees are asked to RSVP so the network leader has a headcount at the ferry terminal. Ferry tickets for travel both before and after the game, as well as game tickets, must be purchased separately in advance. Designed for dancers who already feel confident with the core rhythm, this program adds flavor, intricate partner patterns, and deeper musicality while challenging footwork and connection. Completion of a beginner Cumbia series or comparable foundation is required. The journey begins with a quick refresh of Tropical and Sonidera steps, then moves into syncopated footwork, timing shifts, and techniques for clear tension, compression, and frame to support faster transitions. Precision grows with multiple turns for leaders and followers, smart traveling and floor craft, and partner combinations that incorporate detailed hand drops and loops. As the series progresses, expect expressive styling through body isolations, hip action, and arm work, along with advanced cross body lead variations, continuous turns, and smooth transitions between complex moves. The final week brings everything together in an advanced choreography sequence and a focused exploration of musical interpretation, from breaks and accents to different Cumbia sub genres, followed by social dance practice and a concise recap. Experience level is intermediate. No partner is required, and partners rotate during class to ensure plenty of practice with different dancers. Non marking soles are requested to protect the dance floor. About the instructor, Mireille Ruiz was born and raised in Mexico City and grew up immersed in music and dance, including Cumbia, Banda, Ranchera, and Quebradita, learning early following skills dancing with her father at family gatherings. With training in Mexican folklore, jazz, tap, and gymnastics, she is also a percussionist, drummer, and Montessori teacher who has performed since the age of four. A leading Bay Area Bachata and Cumbia instructor, she has taught, performed, and directed teams at major events, festivals, and congresses across the United States since 2008.

Gather at the Hamilton Field History Museum for a two-part program that explores the early and offbeat stories behind Hamilton. It begins with an illustrated talk inside the museum, then continues with a guided walk of about two miles, with a one-mile option, to visit historic sites around the former base. The route is mostly level, with a brief steep hill near the end. Along the way, hear how an Italian chef named Salvatore helped bring an air base to Marin, how crafty animals repeatedly outwitted the base commander, and how a Native American commander was honored with a song in Osage that is still performed. Learn why a lieutenant general and a lieutenant colonel each put women pilots in charge of ferrying different aircraft, and discover surprising ties to Abbot and Costello as well as the Dalai Lama. Everyone is welcome, and a $10 donation is suggested. Attend just the talk, only the walk, or take part in both. For the walk, bring water, a hat, and sunscreen. Registration is not required. Austin based singer songwriter Bob Schneider, formerly the frontman of The Ugly Americans and The Scabs, is known for blending folk, rock, rap, funk, bluegrass, reggae, and country with a classic singer songwriter sensibility... in a word, frunk. His writing mixes playful and powerful tones while addressing alienation, addiction, and lost romance. He has received more than 59 Austin Music Awards, including recognition for album, songwriter, musician, and male vocals, making him the most decorated artist in Austin music history. National attention followed his Universal Records debut Lonelyland, after which he launched Shockorama Records to release music on his own terms. His performances have a strong live reputation in intimate rooms and on big stages, including festivals such as Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. He has appeared twice on Austin City Limits and maintains a long running residency at The Saxon Pub that has reached its 20th year. Raised in a musical household in Kolkata, he forged a distinctive voice that unites deep tradition with bold creativity. He also designed the Chaturangui, Gandharvi, and Anandi, collectively known as the Debtaar family of instruments, opening a new sonic vocabulary for Indian classical music. His career includes appearances on leading stages and festivals around the world and collaborations with artists such as John McLaughlin, Zakir Hussain, and Mandolin U Srinivas. His music is noted for lyricism, spiritual depth, technical mastery, and the ability to connect across cultures. Suryadipta carries the next chapter of this lineage. Fronted by Glen Phillips with Todd Nichols, Dean Dinning, and Randy Guss, the band became known for reflective lyrics, memorable melodies, and tight harmonies. Their debut, Bread & Circus, was made on a shoestring and later reissued by Columbia Records without changes. Columbia also released their follow-up, Pale, which earned strong critical acclaim. This is an outdoor, all-ages event. The ground level is standing room only, and seating is limited on the lawn and at tables on the hillside, both first come. Low-back chairs are allowed in the lawn section. Children need a ticket to attend and babies in arms are not permitted. Parking is free with plenty of availability. Now in its 30th year, Nostalgia Days, presented by the Downtown Novato Business Association, is a long-standing highlight in Downtown Novato, California. The city closes seven blocks of tree lined Grant Avenue to traffic for a full day so car lovers can take in the sights and sounds. Classic rock sets the tone while Mitch Pollzak and The Royal Deuces deliver live rockabilly. Spectator admission is free, and hundreds of vehicles are on display, including classics, hot rods, trucks, and customs. The festivities conclude with category awards, along with cash prizes for Best in Show and the People’s Choice. Before the main show, a police escorted Hot Rod Cruise moves through Downtown Novato and draws families to cheer along the route.

Presented by KC Turner, the Jackie Greene Band brings an outdoor Cookout Concert to HopMonk Novato with Jon Chi & the Pacific Syndicate, part of the 13th Annual Cookout Concert Series and sponsored by JAMBAR. Jackie Greene is an Americana and roots singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist known for tender piano ballads and searing blues guitar, including a tenure as lead guitarist for The Black Crowes in 2013. His release The Modern Lives Vol. 2 on Blue Rose Music continued the story begun on Vol. 1, shaped by early parenthood, a pause from constant touring, and a return from Brooklyn to Northern California, pairing a basement DIY spirit with a deep study of American styles from Delta blues to the bluegrass and folk of his youth. Songs such as Crazy Comes Easy, Good Old Bad Times, and the piano driven Victim of the Crime showcase his range as a writer and player. He also teamed with Academy Award nominated animator Bill Plympton on a series of videos that became the short film The Modern Lives, which earned the Jury Award at the USA Film Festival and top honors at WorldFest, with additional screenings at the Festival de Cannes, Melbourne International Animation Festival, and ASIFA East. This open air show is primarily standing at ground level, with limited first come seating on the lawn and additional tables at the top of the hill. Low back chairs are allowed in the lawn section. The event is open to all ages, and children require a ticket, with no babies in arms permitted. Arriving when doors open is recommended. Parking is complimentary with ample availability. The ninth annual Cruisin’ North Car Show for a Cause benefits the Alzheimer’s Association and is set for Petaluma Plaza North Shopping Center, with final contracts pending. Spectating is free to the public. This family-friendly, rain-or-shine gathering features music, vendors, a raffle, and food from businesses in the shopping center. Vehicle entry is open to all makes and models from pre-1986, with pre-registration at $45 and day-of entry at $50, and space is limited to 200 cars. Dash plaques are planned. Awards span 25 trophy classes covering eras from pre-1939 through the 1970s and include categories such as convertible, muscle car, Chevelle/Malibu/El Camino, Camaro, Mustang, Mopar muscle, rat rod, pickups including Chevy and GMC C/K trucks, under construction, foreign, VW, more-door sedans and wagons, low rider, plus Traditional Rod and Custom, People’s Choice, Best in Show, Kid’s Choice, and the Bad Ass award in memory of Bonnie Jenkins. Show and Shine display options without trophies are available for 1980 to 1986 and for modern muscle 1987 and newer, including contemporary versions of classic models like Corvette, Camaro, Firebird/Trans Am, Mustang, Challenger, Charger, Grand National, GTO, and aftermarket Trans Am and Chevelle.
