This co-ed class is for ages 6 to 11 and runs on Fridays during the program window. Participants should bring their own bat, glove, and helmet.

Explore the world of Pokemon through activities inspired by the franchise and friendly play with the Pokemon Trading Card Game. Newcomers can learn how the game works, and experienced players can enjoy casual matches. This free library program is for ages 8 to 12.

Kids ages 5 to 14 can take the field in a coed NFL FLAG football program that keeps the action quick without contact. The league builds skills, teamwork, confidence, and good sportsmanship through practices and weekly games. Participants represent official NFL teams, making for a fun, authentic experience for newcomers and experienced athletes alike. Activities take place at Freedom Park.

Bring your child for a Parent and Me soccer class built around fun instructional games and obstacle courses. Kids work on early motor and social skills while learning basic soccer fundamentals, including dribbling, ball control, and kicking toward a goal. Parent participation is required, and the class is held outdoors behind the Palm Desert Community Center, between the tennis courts and playground area. Ages 2 to 5 (co-ed).

Adaptive Splash Play is an early open swim designed for individuals with disabilities or special needs. Participants can practice swimming skills and have fun with friends and family during the scheduled session. A Therapeutic Recreation form is required to be submitted prior to the class start date, and it can be completed at a community center front counter or downloaded from the website.

Neon Family Splash Night transforms the Palm Desert Aquatic Center into a glowing playground for families, friends, and animal lovers, blending water thrills, upbeat music, and neon themed fun in support of Greater Palm Springs Animal Allies. Guests can make the most of unlimited time on the waterslides, the floating obstacle course, the rock climbing wall, the rope swing, the diving boards, and the splash playground, all with a live DJ setting the vibe. A Glow Station welcomes everyone with a complimentary glow necklace, and the evening also features neon temporary tattoos, a Neon Style Showdown, and family friendly games. Each attendee receives 50 percent off a Palm Springs Surf Club Day Pass. Bright neon swimwear is encouraged, and anyone without neon can pick up glow gear on site to shine all evening. The night benefits efforts that deliver lifesaving care for homeless dogs and cats, emergency treatment and rehabilitation for injured and orphaned wildlife, affordable veterinary services for families in need, and compassionate care for animals across the Coachella Valley. Members of the Astronomical Society of the Desert lead guided sky viewing with telescopes and binoculars at the Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains National Monument Visitor Center. Expect possible views of planets, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, comets, meteors, and other deep space sights, and bring questions to ask throughout the experience. This is a family-friendly program. Minors must attend with a parent or guardian. The area is wheelchair accessible with asphalt surfaces, and dogs are not permitted. RSVP is required, with registration opening two weeks in advance, and check-in available for the duration. Follow basic etiquette by not touching equipment unless invited and by avoiding white lights near the telescope area. Check the forecast before heading out, as heavy cloud cover, wind, or rain will cancel the program. A suggested non-refundable donation of $5 per person supports volunteer programs. This summer camp runs every week for ten weeks on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. It is designed for independent kids ages 3 and up, with the flexibility to attend by the day or for all three days in a week. Activities take place in a modern facility with a focus on fun. Online registration is available, and space is nearly full.

This beginner piano class is designed for students ages 7 to 17. In a classroom setting using a keyboard, participants will learn how to read notes and rhythm, and they’ll also begin working on scales and proper hand positions at the keyboard.
