Members of the Astronomical Society of the Desert lead guided sky viewing with telescopes and binoculars at the Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains National Monument Visitor Center. Expect possible views of planets, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, comets, meteors, and other deep space sights, and bring questions to ask throughout the experience. This is a family-friendly program. Minors must attend with a parent or guardian. The area is wheelchair accessible with asphalt surfaces, and dogs are not permitted. RSVP is required, with registration opening two weeks in advance, and check-in available for the duration. Follow basic etiquette by not touching equipment unless invited and by avoiding white lights near the telescope area. Pantera Dance Company offers a salsa footwork class at In Movement Dance Studio that centers on solo “shines” in the on1 style.
