Presented by EDJ School of Jiu Jitsu Riverside, this beginner-focused workshop creates a relaxed, encouraging space to explore the fundamentals of the gentle art. Participants learn practical self-defense that relies on leverage and technique rather than brute strength, get a functional full-body workout that builds core strength, flexibility, and endurance, and find stress relief by focusing on new skills. The environment emphasizes community so attendees can connect with supportive, like-minded adults. Over approximately 90 minutes, instructors cover the basic philosophy of BJJ, guide simple movement warmups, and teach two to three essential self-defense techniques.

Explore Argentine Tango with a progressive, welcoming series held every Tuesday at Riverside Ballet Arts Dance School inside the Platt College Building.
