Each Monday, families can enjoy a lively storytime with stories, songs, and playful activities. Everyone is welcome, and the program is best suited for children ages 1 to 5.

Push your whole body with a coed workout that blends rowing and strength training, led by Andrea Khoo. Using WaterRower machines, weights, and other equipment, the class begins with instruction on technique and mobility to prepare you for the work ahead. It then moves into energizing intervals that pair gentle-on-the-joints rowing with resistance sets to build strength and stamina. Sign up is required.

This dynamic workout blends high intensity intervals with low impact training for an efficient, challenging session. It features rowing sprints on a WaterRower paired with movements using a BOSU balance trainer, kettlebells, dumbbells, and bodyweight exercises to help you get the most from every minute. Registration in advance is required.

This weekly lap-sit storytime invites babies and their parents or caregivers to share time together while learning and having fun. With songs, stories, rhymes, and play, it encourages language growth and social development.

This low impact strength class is designed for women of every level. It is a good fit if you are new to strength training, returning after a break, rehabilitating from an injury, or aiming to build strength that supports daily activities. Please register in advance, as space is limited.

Enjoy a weekly music and movement program at Arthur F. Turner Community Library Yolo County Library where families can move together and help little ones use up some energy. All families are welcome, and the activities are best suited for children 18 months and up.

Picnic in the Park is back with the Davis Farmers Market, offering a larger lineup of farmers and food vendors, plus beer, wine, and live music. It is a warm weather gathering with cold drinks, good food, and time with friends and family.

Cool off with a dog-friendly pool event hosted by Animal Den Pet Resort & Spa in partnership with the Sacramento SPCA. Two separate sessions offer an hour and a half of open swim for each dog in the in-ground dog pool, along with access to attached play yards for extra exercise. Adult beverages will be available for purchase. Admission is $35 per dog and owners attend free, with all proceeds benefiting the animals at the Sacramento SPCA. Each session is limited to 30 dogs and 60 people, so purchasing tickets in advance is recommended. Proof of current vaccinations is required; please email vaccination records in advance, titled Splashy Hour, to info@animaldenpetresort.com. Each dog must be accompanied by one person.

Practice drawing from a nude model in a self-directed session at Pence Gallery. This non-instructional gathering welcomes adults 18 and older, whether you are an experienced artist or trying figure drawing for the first time, in an easygoing, supportive setting. Bring your own drawing or painting supplies, and settle into the upstairs classroom where a staff member will be on hand to facilitate and answer questions. Expect a progression from quick warm ups to longer poses. Participation is limited to 10 people. Advance registration with payment through the Pence website is required. Pricing is $15 for members and $22 for non-members. These sessions are offered twice each month.

Skate practices are open to anyone interested in learning the basics or building new skills. This welcoming group comes together to practice roller skating or simply enjoy time on wheels with friendly company, and all experience levels are welcome. Loaner gear is available, and participants can indicate what they need.

Explore art journaling in a hands-on workshop led by instructor Mark Glimski. This welcoming, rule-free format introduces fresh techniques and ideas, then gives attendees time to experiment with assorted mediums on a journal, canvas, or another surface of choice. The skills covered translate well to card making, art journals, mixed media canvases, and a variety of paper crafts. The cost is $25. All required specialty materials are provided. An art bar with stations will be set up so participants can test and use different mediums, with blank tags available for small scale trials. Sample journals will be on hand to spark inspiration and demonstrate the techniques taught. Each class features different products, so every session is unique. For the comfort of all, please avoid wearing scented oils, perfumes, lotions, or other fragrances. There are no cancellations, exchanges, or refunds. If attendance becomes impossible, a class kit will be provided, excluding shared supplies.

The Pence Gallery hosts a 2nd Friday ArtAbout reception featuring multiple exhibits to explore, complimentary wine, and live music by Sammy & Lauren Leverone. Admission is free. Slice presents regional work selected by juror Gioia Fonda, highlighting sculpture, prints, paintings, and photography by 35 artists. Mirabel Wigon: Earth Stars gathers botanically inspired oil and acrylic paintings where flora interacts with geometric forms, with elements extending into 3D through augmented reality. Exhibit It! showcases art from community members, with voting for a favorite artist and a Public Choice Award announced at the end of the exhibit. David Burkholder: Day Trip lines the stairway with plein air oil paintings that capture warm light and the varied landscapes of Northern California and its close neighbors. An art-themed scavenger hunt encourages visitors to complete clues by exploring the exhibits for a chance to win a special prize. This reception is part of the 2nd Friday ArtAbout artwalk in Downtown Davis, and printed guides are available.

Take a public swim at Cottage Pool, then settle in for a complimentary movie. Bring a picnic or pick up snacks at the concession booth, and plan to sit on the grass with a blanket or a camping chair. Swimming costs $5 per person, the movie is free, concessions are available for purchase, and glass containers are not permitted.

An interactive murder mystery unfolds in Sacramento at The Old Spaghetti Factory, where guests sift through clues, chat with suspects, and piece together a whodunit that could point the finger at anyone in the room. The experience pairs theatrical sleuthing with a three-course meal offering entrees such as spinach and cheese ravioli, spicy spaghetti vesuvius, lasagna, or breast of chicken fettuccini. Substitutions are available for an additional charge. One soft drink is included without refills, and a bar for additional beverages accepts cash and credit. Themed capers include titles like Midnight at the Masquerade, Best Laid Plans, and Death of a Gangster, keeping the mystery fresh from show to show.

Organized by the City of West Sacramento Recreation Center, this poolside movie night features Cars, a G rated 2006 family comedy with a 1 hour 57 minute runtime. Swimming access begins 30 minutes before the film. Guests may bring swimsuits, blankets, and snacks, and can watch from the pool deck, the grass area, or while floating in the recreation pool. Admission is $15 for residents and $18 for non residents. Ticket sales will open later in the summer and can be completed at the door or through the registration site. The Nubian Family Marketplace, formerly known as the African Market Place at Florin Square, is a community gathering that celebrates culture through food, art, and shopping. It spotlights and supports Black-owned small businesses and creatives, featuring artisans, visual artists, cooks, crafters, hobbyists, and more. Admission is free and parking is complimentary. Organizers welcome crafters, cooks, designers, artists, and other creatives who wish to participate as vendors.

Impound Comics presents a two day celebration of anime, manga, comics, and pop culture at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center. Welcoming all ages and designed with families in mind, the convention invites attendees to cosplay and take part in a costume contest, with ribbon trading adding to the fun. Expect panel discussions with voice talent and content creators, along with plenty of comics, manga, and merchandise. More than 80 vendors and a broad range of exhibitors highlight interests across comics, toys, games, science fiction, anime, manga, cosplay, original art, sketches, and apparel. The event accommodates up to 2,500 attendees and offers opportunities to meet comic industry professionals and recognizable figures from the community. Special guests will be announced.

Stephanie leads a hands-on scrapbook workshop focused on designing two double page layouts using your own stash and supplies. Learn practical techniques for mixing colors and patterned papers, combining products from different scrapbook companies, creating balance and flow across a spread, layering embellishments for added texture and dimension, and stretching materials in creative ways. This class is a good fit for scrapbookers who want fresh ideas for using what they already own while crafting beautiful pages. Please bring four sheets of white cardstock for bases or coordinating colored cardstock if preferred, one sheet of colored cardstock for photo mats, five sheets of patterned paper, coordinating embellishments, wet and dry adhesives, foam tape or dots, scissors, a paper trimmer, a ruler, inks that match your papers, and your basic tool kit. The 16th Annual Celebrate Natomas returns to South Natomas Community Center Park with a free, family friendly community gathering. Enjoy live music, food trucks, local vendors, and bounce houses. The music lineup features Q-VO with James Brown favorites and Latin rhythms, Finesse performing Bruno Mars covers, and School of Rock showcasing alternative selections. Additional highlights include a beer garden, a photo booth, convenient bike valet, and complimentary RT shuttle service from Natomas High School. Open to dancers of all levels, this ballroom social offers an evening of music, movement, and community. Club Necromancy brings a goth masquerade ball to Harlow's, filling the night with dark elegance and a mysterious atmosphere on the dance floor.
