Zikr Dance Ensemble: Runes
Zikr Dance Ensemble’s 2026 Spring Season program, Runes, features an international roster of world class dancers and explores the power and transformative energy of some of history’s most iconic symbols alongside a light code language of the future. The evening includes a reprise of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s In Memoriam pas de deux by the internationally acclaimed Belgian choreographer, Tomm Ruud’s iconic miniature Mobile, and the company’s signature work In Your Eyes, a favorite with audiences.
Aspen District TheaterMarfa
Marfa is a Colorado-born duo shaped by western textures and a love for the Laurel Canyon tradition, creating an Americana rock blend that feels classic yet new. Bryce Menchaca and Kellen Wall introduced their sound with the debut single 66, produced by GRAMMY winner Nick Waterhouse and recorded at Los Angeles’ EastWest Studios, a storied space tied to landmark albums like Pet Sounds and California Dreamin’. Momentum followed with the fan favorite Daisy, which climbed into the Top 5 at Americana radio and reached the Top 40 at AAA. In 2025 they became the first act to sign with Ascend Music, a division of Big Machine Label Group, and released Little Miss Two Time, spotlighted by KCRW’s Today’s Top Tunes for connecting Laurel Canyon’s lineage with a West Texas vibe, rich harmonies, and a lively stomp. Recent tracks American Lonely and Little Lowdown carry their Denver-rooted Americana farther, inviting listeners into a broad, imaginative sound. Westword named them Best Breakout Folk Duo in its Best of Denver 2025 issue, and they have taken their roots-and-rock live show out alongside Southall, The Mavericks, and Kashus Culpepper.

MOLLIE Weaving RoomStories in Motion: T-Rex to T-Rest Regulation Workshop
At Pitkin County Library, Stories in Motion: T-Rex to T-Rest offers a free, play-focused workshop that supports kids with big feelings while giving caregivers practical tools. Using imaginative imagery, rhymes, and movement, it shares evidence-based regulation strategies that help move from rising tension to calm, connected interactions. Families can expect simple, somatic, science-informed techniques they can use in everyday moments like transitions, meltdowns, and after-school overwhelm, encouraging steadier bodies, sharper focus, and more confident care. An optional Q&A follows for caregivers interested in added insight from a local Behavior Analyst, an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant who support families in the Roaring Fork Valley and Aspen School District. Registration is required. The workshop brings community, creativity, and movement together to build capacity, connection, and calm.
