This guided outing offers an introduction to the park. It sets off from the alcove by the American flagpole outside the Visitor and Nature Center and follows the paved Gateway Trail to the Central Garden. Expect an easy, stroller friendly route of about one mile, taking around an hour, though timing may vary. At the Central Garden, you may continue exploring on your own or return to the Visitor and Nature Center with the guide. Capacity is limited to 15. Tickets are first come, first served and are nonrefundable. The walk is weather dependent. South Colorado Springs National KarateFused Glass Mushroom Stake Class
Design and create two fused glass mushrooms for your garden or potted plants. Working with colorful frit, including options that glow in the dark, participants build their pieces without any glass cutting. Each project is kiln fired once to fuse the colors, then fired again on a mold to form the final shape. The class welcomes beginners as well as those with more experience and is open to ages 14 and up. The fee is $72 and includes all materials. The class is nonrefundable, but cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance receive a 50 percent credit toward a future class. Enrollment requires a minimum of six participants and is capped at ten. If the minimum is not met, purchases will be refunded or can be applied as a credit to a future class.

719 Challenge - Ride & Run
Set in Olympic City USA, Colorado Springs, the 719 Challenge Ride & Run returns for its 11th year with an endurance cycling fondo and a mixed-surface 10K. Rooted in the foothills of the Pikes Peak region, the courses showcase challenging climbs and scenic trails, and the event is recognized as the official road cycling event and the official 10K run of the Rocky Mountain State Games, with a shared start and finish that create a central gathering place for athletes of all levels. Cyclists can customize their effort by riding one, two, or three laps on an updated route that blends favorite climbs with new tests, choosing Piccolo at about 20 miles, Medio around 40 miles, or Gran at more than 60 miles. Each lap includes timed KOM and QOM segments, opportunities to regroup between efforts, and competition that also counts toward Rocky Mountain State Games honors. The ride is part of the SENA Gran Fondo National Series and serves as a qualifier for the USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championships in Frederick, Maryland. Runners tackle 6.2 miles on paved paths and smooth crushed-gravel trails on a mostly flat, closed to traffic course. The 719 theme threads through the day, from the local 719 area code to a signature KOM and QOM summit near 7,190 feet, and the Ultimate 719 KOM Challenge recognizes riders who surpass 71.9 miles and 9,000 feet of climbing with a custom engraved, elevation inspired Benchmark finisher. The day highlights challenge, camaraderie, and celebration in Colorado Springs.

Hosted by Cheyenne Mountain Lacrosse Club and The Cole Mika Foundation, this third annual youth lacrosse camp at Skyway Park Elementary School celebrates Cole Mika’s passion for the sport, camaraderie, competition, and the outdoors. This four day program welcomes boys and girls and centers on building skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for playing. Coaching comes from CMLC staff, guest coaches, members of the 2026 Cheyenne Mountain High School State Championship team, and other local leaders in the game. Participants are grouped by age, grade, and ability when possible, and each session blends position specific instruction with small sided games, friendly competitions, team building activities, and plenty of fun. The cost is $57.50 per player for the full camp, and capacity is limited to 40 players. Lend a hand at a weekly organized environmental workday in Concrete Coyote Community Park, where walk-in participation is welcome and there is always meaningful work to do along with chances to share knowledge and learn from others. Individuals, families, and friends are invited to participate, and the day suits school and homeschool groups, community organizations, and anyone completing community service hours. Tasks often include building and construction, landscaping and tree care, plant care, and trash pick-up and maintenance, with plenty of other projects available. Situated near downtown Colorado Springs, this nearly eight-acre natural open-space park offers access to the Shooks Run riparian corridor, providing a fitting place for efforts that support the city’s environmental health. Leadership roles are available across several focus areas, including creek stewardship, native plant care, soil amendment, water harvesting, wildlife habitat, equipment management, and outreach. Volunteer programs also take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Participants learn to cut and layer glass to design three coordinating pieces, with guidance on shaping flower petals using nippers and on applying frit and vitrigraph for added texture and detail. A sample theme highlights three seasons of Colorado flowers for inspiration. Finished pieces are mounted in a sturdy 48-inch high metal frame, included with the class, so the artwork is ready for outdoor display. This experience is beginner friendly and open to ages 16 and up. After kiln firing, projects will be available for pickup at the store within 5 to 7 days. Policies include no refunds, with a 50 percent credit offered for cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance. Enrollment is capped at 10 and requires a minimum of 6 participants. Grounded in the science of vibration, the experience uses resonance to help realign the body’s frequencies and foster a sense of harmony.
