Settle into Francie’s Cabin in the Crystal Basin just south of Breckenridge, a beloved backcountry retreat at 11,264 feet surrounded by the Ten Mile Range, alpine lakes, wildflowers, and high-country trails. Your group has the cabin entirely to yourselves while professional, friendly mountain guides are with you throughout the experience, both on the trail and back at the table. Each morning features a hike tailored to your energy and interests, ranging from a relaxed outing to Crystal Lakes to a full summit attempt on Crystal Peak at 13,852 feet when conditions are right. Afternoons bring you back to the cabin to cook, share a meal, and unwind together, and a sauna is available to help you recover after a day in the mountains. All meals are provided, including three dinners, three breakfasts, and four days of trail lunches with daily snacks. The cabin is rustic yet well equipped, so plan to hike in with a sleeping bag and the group’s food. A full kitchen with cooking gear is ready for you, water filtration is handled by the guides, and a 20 percent guide gratuity is already covered. Groups of three to twelve have exclusive use of the cabin for three nights. Transportation to and from the Spruce Creek Trailhead, personal gear such as sleeping bags, backpacks, and boots, and alcoholic beverages are not included. This four-day, three-night adventure is designed for families with children as young as 12 as well as adult groups who want something more immersive than a day trip yet more welcoming and less gear heavy than backpacking or a technical peak climb. The plan begins at the Spruce Creek Trailhead with a 1.6 to 2.2 mile hike to the cabin, time to get settled, explore nearby terrain, prepare dinner together, and enjoy the sauna. The second day features a guided hike such as Crystal Lakes, the Wheeler Trail, or the Spruce Creek Loop, followed by a snack, free time, and a shared dinner. The third day aims for Crystal Peak or another objective at the guide’s discretion, with a packed trail lunch and a final dinner back at the hut. The last day includes breakfast, cabin clean-up, and a hike out.

Discover Frisco’s past on a 90-minute guided walk along historic Main Street, led by Museum staff who share favorite stories from more than 140 years of local history. The route sets out from the Schoolhouse Museum, continues through Main Street, and concludes at the historic Lund House at the Frisco Bay Marina. Routes may be adjusted if weather or construction requires. This is a welcoming option for visitors and locals interested in learning about the town and the people who lived here. The tour is recommended for ages 10 and up, while groups with younger participants may enjoy the passport program at the Historic Park. Please plan to arrive fifteen minutes early to check in with the tour guide. Advance registration is required, and registration opens 4 to 5 weeks ahead. AstroMark returns to the Historic Park Gazebo for an evening centered on the peak of the Perseids. Choose from four no-cost, guided stargazing tours, each lasting 40 minutes and led by trained guides. Guests without a reservation may not secure a tour, but they can still use the stand-alone telescopes and talk with AstroMark’s stargazers. Bring a jacket and wear comfortable shoes. Young riders can take part in a free race series at Copper Mountain that introduces kids to cycling in a safe and encouraging setting. Using balance or pedal bikes, participants navigate a kid-sized course through Center Village tailored to their height and experience, with an emphasis on building confidence, coordination, and a love of the outdoors. Courses are set for Strider-level riding, and children up to 6 years old of any ability are welcome. A limited number of bikes will be available to borrow on a first come basis at the venue. Presented by Copper Village Merchants and Mountain Sprouts Academy, this installment is Race 2 in the Little Riders Rally and features a distance course.
