Stories of Your Family Rooting in Erie

Erie · Erie Community Center, 450 Powers St

Motus Playback Theater brings an evening of live, interactive storytelling to the Erie Community Center, inviting residents to reflect on moments when they first felt at home in the community and in the land of Erie, Colorado. In recognition of Colorado’s 150th anniversary, this gathering offers space to honor the personal and collective journeys that continue to shape Erie today. Audience members can share reflections about finding home through family, migration, memory, or a sense of belonging in Erie, with stories that may be recent, long ago, or passed down across generations. Each account is brought to life on the spot by the Motus Playback Ensemble, as improvisational actors and musicians transform lived experiences into unscripted theater that encourages connection and understanding. After the performance, tea and cookies will be available to keep conversations going and help new connections take root. This family-friendly event welcomes ages 10 to 100 and celebrates Colorado’s sesquicentennial through living stories rather than history alone.
