The workshop fee is $125, with a $35 materials fee. Enrollment is limited to eight participants, and at least five registrations are required for the workshop to proceed. Early registration is encouraged. About the instructor: Christine has been immersed in fiber arts since childhood. Largely self-taught, she has long experimented with color and technique, beginning to dye wool for her own sweaters around 1978 and continuing to refine her process. She plans projects first, then tailors dye methods to match her vision, and sees experimentation as central to growth and the joy of working with color.

    Dinosaur Jr. and more

Fort Collins · Washington's FoCo, 132 Laporte Ave

Presented by 105.5 The Colorado Sound, this bill pairs Dinosaur Jr. with Stef Chura. Dinosaur Jr. arrive with There Near, the sixth studio album since their rebirth two decades ago, created in focused bursts at Amherst’s Bisquiteen Studio. The core trio of Murph on drums, Lou Barlow on bass and vocals, and J Mascis on guitar and vocals handled nearly everything, with Ken Mauri adding piano and organ. The record leans into the band’s hallmark blend of laid back vocals, biting guitar work, and a driving rhythm section, a noise pop approach that helped inspire Nirvana. Mascis chased a raw, early era tone by plugging into a 1970s Mesa Boogie Mark I, echoing the character of their first recordings. He describes his lyrics as intentionally open ended, encouraging listeners to discover their own meanings rather than rely on printed words.

Fort Collins · Aggie Theatre, 204 S College Ave

Aggie Theatre hosts Digable Planets on the Blowout Comb 30th Anniversary Tour, celebrating the trio’s landmark second album with a live set backed by their full five-piece band. Ishmael "Butterfly" Butler, Craig "Doodlebug" Irving, and Mary Ann "Ladybug Mecca" Vieira first broke through with the Grammy-winning Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat), bringing a jazz-laced hip hop sound that carried the single into the upper reaches of the Billboard Hot 100. Their debut, Reachin’, earned wide acclaim and RIAA gold, weaving intricate storytelling that ranged from neighborhood narratives to social issues, and the group marked its 30th year in 2023. They quickly followed with Blowout Comb, a vivid meditation on Black liberation that grew in stature over time and went on to shape generations of hip hop fans, young jazz players, and Afrofuturists. For this anniversary run, the group translates those sample-rich cuts into a contemporary live experience, balancing the spirit of the era with forward-looking textures and concepts.

Anti-MFA: A Writing Workshop for the Rest of Us

Fort Collins · Wolverine Farm Publick House, 316 Willow St

Anti-MFA is a community-centered writing workshop that gathers at Wolverine Farm to build skills, share work, and read together outside traditional academic settings. It offers more structure and intention than a casual critique circle, with participants bringing original pieces for feedback alongside selected published work for group discussion. Preparation is flexible, and support is shaped by the people in the room. Poetry is the anchor, yet writers of every genre are welcome, and taking part does not require sharing your own writing. Feedback time may be limited, so priorities are set from meeting to meeting, with attention given to those who have not yet received notes, and larger groups may divide into smaller conversations as needed. The current theme centers on We by Layli Long Soldier, a book recognized on the National Book Award longlist by a recent MacArthur Fellow whose earlier collection, Whereas, earned significant honors. Discussion will explore what it means to be in community and in relation to family, nation, history, and language... how the English first-person plural invites inclusion, how the Lakota word Wé means blood, and how writers can address colonialism and the country’s history of what is shared and what is shed. Copies of We are available locally at Old Firehouse, Perelandra, and other neighborhood shops. If purchasing the book is a barrier, financial assistance is available at focopoetlaureate@gmail.com.

The Baltimore quartet of “Scrambled Greg” Ormont on vocals and guitar, Jeremy Schon on guitar and vocals, Ben Carrey on bass and vocals, and Alex "Gator" Petropulos on drums and vocals continues its psychedelic funk journey with the eighth studio album Feed The Fire on No Coincidence Records, building on more than sixteen years, eight albums, and a long run of high-energy shows. The album embraces new creative partnerships, including a co-write on the title track with Wes Bailey of Moon Taxi, a lead vocal turn from Ben Carrey on Hit The Ground Runnin', horn features from Here Come The Mummies and West End Blend, and additional production color from Chalk Dinosaur on songs such as Twitch and Underworld. Tracks like Right Track, Fantasy, and Undivided reflect a focus on groove, texture, and forward momentum, while milestones from major stage headlining appearances to their fan-centered Domefest highlight the band’s evolving path. VIP packages include a general admission ticket, a personal meet and greet with a photo opportunity, an exclusive merchandise item, a commemorative laminate, the ability to shop merchandise before general entry, and early access to the venue.

    Thee Sinseers

Fort Collins · Aggie Theatre, 204 S College Ave

Aggie Theatre presents Thee Sinseers as the Love Stories Tour comes to the venue. Led by bandleader Joey Quiñones and rooted in East Los Angeles, the group has been shaping a modern take on classic R&B and soul since forming in 2019. Their Colemine Records release, Love Stories, reaches beyond a tidy romance and explores what happens before, after, and in spite of it. The music leans into earthy textures, with upright bass and warmly driven guitars that nod to a sixties-inspired palette while remaining contemporary. The songs chase the rush and the heartbreak of relationships, then widen the frame to include family dynamics, tangled moments, and emotions that never fully settle. It plays like a long-held note finally shared, full of feelings that once went unspoken.

Fort Collins · Aggie Theatre, 204 S College Ave

105.5 The Colorado Sound and CSU Music Business Collective present Great Lake Swimmers with Elka and Sirona Isle at the Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins. As part of the Caught Light Tour 2026, the indie folk ensemble led by Tony Dekker brings acoustic textures, rustic atmosphere, and gentle vocals to a setting well suited to their intimate sound. Originating in Southern Ontario, the group first stood out in the early 2000s with atmospheric recordings captured in unique spaces like old silos and country churches, leaning on natural acoustics and a changing roster of collaborators. Their concerts are known for handcrafted folk elements and a close, Americana-tinged feel. The performance showcases music from Caught Light, released in October 2025 and recorded in just five days in Ontario’s Ganaraska Forest with producer Darcy Yates of Bahamas and engineer Jimmy Bowskill of Blue Rodeo. The album draws warmth from early 1970s folk-pop while embracing a renewed spontaneity and clarity in Dekker’s writing. Great Lake Swimmers have earned recognition such as a Polaris Music Prize shortlist and two Juno Award nominations, along with praise from outlets including CBC, American Songwriter, New Noise Magazine, and Exclaim.
