Taste the Plant Edge: A Plant-Based Tasting Workshop

Tampa · Lotus Pond Center for Yoga and Health, 6201 Lynn Rd

Explore plant-based eating in a hands-on tasting workshop led by Karen Frost. Sample a curated lineup of whole-food dishes spanning breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert-style snacks while learning what to eat on a plant-based diet, how to meet nutrient needs, and simple ways to add more plants to everyday meals. The session covers science-backed insights into how plant foods may support health, including blood pressure, cardiovascular health, blood sugar, cholesterol, inflammation, and body weight. Come with an appetite. No cooking experience is required. Attendees take home practical tips, recipes, and easy ideas to recreate the flavors at home. Space is limited to keep the experience intimate. Cost is $55 and all sales are final. Participants are asked to advise Lotus Pond of any allergies or sensitivities in advance. To help reduce waste, bring a reusable plate, bowl, utensils, cup, and napkin, and receive a special take-home treat as thanks. There will be a brief moment of blender use, so headphones may be helpful for anyone who is sound sensitive. There is also an option to bring shelf-stable foods that will be donated to the Community Food Pantry. About the facilitator: Karen Frost is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 30 years of experience. She is a certified yoga instructor who teaches a weekly Gentle and Beginner class at the Lotus Pond and is currently pursuing a 300-hour advanced Yoga Teacher Training. She has presented on mindfulness, meditation, stress management, and plant-based eating in community and national settings.
