Wellness with WAVE Walk & Talk brings the community together for a relaxed morning of movement, connection, and well-being. Building on the strong turnout from the first gathering, this edition welcomes anyone hoping to get more active, meet new people, enjoy the Kings Bay scenery, or simply set aside an hour of self-care. It is not a race or a fitness challenge. Participants can expect a chance to step away from daily routines, breathe fresh air, move at a comfortable pace, and connect with others who value a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Attendance is free, and people are encouraged to come on their own or with friends, family, or coworkers. The group meets at the WAVE Elite Realty Partners office, follows the Kings Bay Loop, and returns to the starting point for a total distance of about 3.1 miles. The aim is to grow this into a monthly community tradition that fosters healthier habits, meaningful conversations, and stronger connections throughout Citrus County. Teams of four can take part in a shotgun-start scramble at Citrus National with a fun twist. The round splits evenly between nine holes with oversized cups and nine with standard cups. The fee is 29.95 per person, plus applicable cart or guest fees. Each entry covers tournament participation, eligibility for prizes, a refreshing ice cream sandwich, and a full barbecue lunch after the round. Golf carts and outfits can be decorated to compete in the Best Dressed and Best Decorated Cart contests. Registration is in person only at the Golf Shop, and space is limited.

Chamber Ambassador Christmas in July

Now in its sixth year, Chamber Ambassador Christmas in July returns as a cheerful summer celebration hosted by the Citrus County Chamber Ambassadors at the Chamber Welcome Center. The evening blends festive fun with a community mission that supports children and teens in Citrus County. Attendees can expect food and drinks, raffle baskets, a playful ugly T shirt contest, and a visit from Santa. Proceeds benefit the Citrus County Education Foundation and the Family Resource Center, helping provide essentials and thoughtful gifts so students begin the school year with confidence and teens feel supported during the holidays. The popular Booze Wagon raffle features a wagon stocked with premium beverages, tickets are $10 with an estimated value over $350, and the winner does not need to be present. New donations are being collected, including school supplies, hygiene items, clothing and shoes in all sizes, unwrapped indoor or outdoor toys, and books for every age. Contributions can be dropped off at Sound Decisions in Crystal River or at the Citrus County Chamber offices in Crystal River and Inverness. Support is welcome through donating, sponsoring, purchasing raffle tickets, and sharing the word.

The finale at Bicentennial Park features a morning of tennis, racquetball, sand volleyball, faux bow archery, and other active games that welcome a bit of friendly competition. After the activities, families can picnic and then cool off during open swim at the Bicentennial Park Pool. Pool entry is $3 per person, and a drawing will award four pool passes.
