Pierce Pettis

Singer songwriter Pierce Pettis presents a body of heartfelt, carefully honed songs shaped by decades of writing and performing, describing his approach as a focus on doing good work rather than chasing fame. Surrounded by instruments growing up, he played in school bands and began composing in a blend of rock, folk, country, and R&B, which led to an unpaid staff writer role at Muscle Shoals Sounds Studios. During that time, his Song at the End of the Movie appeared on Joan Baez’s 1979 album Honest Lullaby. He later toured and became part of New York’s Fast Folk movement in the mid 1980s. His 1991 album Tinseltown was produced by Mark Heard, and since Heard’s passing Pettis has included a song by Heard on every album. His own writing has been recorded by Susan Ashton, Dar Williams, Garth Brooks, and Art Garfunkel. Pete Benson opens the show. An ACMA member and fellow singer songwriter, he has loved Americana music and playing guitar since childhood. Tickets are available at the door, with door donations of $15 for members and $20 for general admission.

Rooted and Rising- a Mother Daughter Experience

A one day immersive experience for mothers and daughters that strengthens their bond, builds confidence, and rekindles inner strength. It honors the moment when a girl wonders who she is, and the quiet question a mother holds about who she is still becoming. Together participants explore practices that boost confidence and strengthen the inner voice, develop emotional awareness with practical resilience skills, and express creativity while deepening connection. The day includes guided visualization, meditation, and reflective exercises, a keynote exploring eleven pillars of personal power, and a midday yoga pause to restore balance. Along the way, attendees learn to trust themselves, navigate emotions with skill, protect their energy, make intentional choices, and step into the next version of who they are becoming. The experience moves through a clear arc, beginning with awareness of self, then aligning with personal truth, and finally activating purpose. It concludes with a meaningful closing ceremony to help the insights and feelings endure well beyond the gathering. Open to mother figures and girls eight and older.
