Singer songwriter Pierce Pettis presents a body of heartfelt, carefully honed songs shaped by decades of writing and performing, describing his approach as a focus on doing good work rather than chasing fame. Surrounded by instruments growing up, he played in school bands and began composing in a blend of rock, folk, country, and R&B, which led to an unpaid staff writer role at Muscle Shoals Sounds Studios. During that time, his Song at the End of the Movie appeared on Joan Baez’s 1979 album Honest Lullaby. He later toured and became part of New York’s Fast Folk movement in the mid 1980s. His 1991 album Tinseltown was produced by Mark Heard, and since Heard’s passing Pettis has included a song by Heard on every album. His own writing has been recorded by Susan Ashton, Dar Williams, Garth Brooks, and Art Garfunkel. Pete Benson opens the show. An ACMA member and fellow singer songwriter, he has loved Americana music and playing guitar since childhood. Tickets are available at the door, with door donations of $15 for members and $20 for general admission.

Vince Gill is bringing his 50 Years From Home tour to town. Known for his songwriting, guitar playing, and tenor vocals, he broke through in 1990 with “When I Call Your Name.” Gill has won multiple CMA, Grammy, and Academy of Country Music Awards. He became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1991 and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007. In 2012, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has been a part of bands such as Pure Prairie League, The Notorious Cherry Bombs, and The Time Jumpers. In 2017, Gill joined the Eagles on tour and continues to perform with them. He signed a lifetime contract with MCA and is releasing an EP series titled 50 Years from Home.

The session is led by Chuck Rambo, who maintains more than 30 aquariums of cichlids from around the world and has been keeping fish since 1967. He has logged over twenty dives in Lake Malawi and Lake Tanganyika, offering insight drawn from the native environments of these species. Rambo served as president and is a life member of the Pacific Coast Cichlid Association. He also served as chair and is a Fellow of the American Cichlid Association.
