Roy Schneider, a founding member of the Americana duo Reckless Saints, has toured across the United States and abroad for two decades. His achievements include three appearances as a NewFolk Finalist at the Kerrville Folk Festival, a run on Season 5 of NBC’s The Voice, and recognition at the Telluride Acoustic Blues competition. He recently released Blue Twangled Folk’n’ Roll with collaborator Kim Mayfield. Anthony Wayne is a Southwest Florida singer songwriter whose roots rock and Americana influences blend memorable melodies with honest storytelling developed over years on Gulf Coast stages. He continues to release new original recordings and videos while performing regularly throughout the region. Bill Metts fell in love with fingerstyle guitar during the 1960s country blues revival. He has performed at the Mississippi John Hurt Blues Festival, the renowned Ground Zero in Clarksdale, the Will McLean Festival in Brooksville, and has appeared multiple times at the Island Hopper Songwriter Festival. He led the ACMA’s weekly Songwriter Circle for four years and favors original material. Tim McGeary of Naples signed with A&M Records in the 1980s and toured with artists such as Billy Idol, Duran Duran, and Simple Minds. His songs have appeared on television series including Smallville and One Tree Hill, as well as in films like The Kiss Me Curse and Girl Got Mo. He now writes for other artists and produces music around the world. Matt Hannam, based in Fort Myers, has performed solo, as half of the duo Another Era, and with the five piece band The Collective. Taking place at St. John First Missionary Baptist Church of Fort Myers with Dr. Sanchious of Thrive Direct Primary Care, this community gathering combines breast health education with on-site screening in a setting designed to be convenient, comfortable, and engaging. Built on a health equity model recognized with national honors, the event makes preventive care accessible whether or not participants have insurance. Uninsured Florida residents may qualify if they live in the state, do not have health insurance, and have not had a mammogram in the past year. Eligibility includes those ages 40 to 64, as well as individuals under 40 who are symptomatic or have a first-degree family history of breast cancer. Income at or below 200 percent of the poverty level is part of the criteria, and women of any age who have completed treatment for breast cancer may also be eligible. Participants who schedule and keep their appointment and complete a virtual breast health session receive a free gift card. Insured Florida residents who are due for a screening after a year are welcome too. Women at average risk are encouraged to begin mammograms at age 40, and most health insurance plans cover screening mammograms with no out-of-pocket cost. Presented in collaboration by ACMA and the Alliance for the Arts, this concert spotlights Nashville-based singer-songwriter Sam Robbins. With an old-soul sensibility and a storyteller’s touch that nods to 1970s icons like James Taylor and Neil Young, he brings a fresh, upbeat energy to timeless folk traditions. His steady touring has earned wide recognition, and he was selected as one of six winners in the 2021 Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk competition, a nationally respected songwriting showcase. ACMA member Bill Saltzman opens the show. A lifelong musician whose early love of cast recordings and classical pieces set the stage, he began on drums and grew into percussion, vocals, piano, and baritone ukulele. He has performed with bands across rock, folk rock, and Americana, and he continues to refine his craft at the Swannanoa Gathering near Asheville alongside Grammy-winning songwriters. Settle in for a concert with A. Lee (Alan) Edwards, sharing new songs from Interpreting Heart Sounds Vol. I, a fresh chapter in a three-decade career that already includes five albums across his work with Lou Ford and The Loudermilks. The record was produced by Edwards, recorded at Echo Mountain Recording Studios in Asheville, engineered by Kenny Harrington, mixed and mastered by the team at Well Made Music in Bristol, Tennessee, and pressed at Citizen Vinyl in Asheville. Veteran producer and engineer John Wood handled the mix, drawing on a legacy that includes work with Nick Drake, Fairport Convention, John Cale, Squeeze, and Richard and Linda Thompson. Americana Highways has compared Edwards’ storytelling to John Prine, noting his touch of humor. The show opens with ACMA member Bob Williams, performing songs from The Long Road Home, his fifth studio album. His sound grows from the folk-rock and country-rock of the 1960s and 1970s into a contemporary Americana blend of roots, folk, country, and blues. Known for sharing the stories behind his songs, he invites listeners into work that can be personal, heartfelt, irreverent, funny, and sometimes achingly sad. Tickets are available at the door. Hosted by Bigfoot Running Company, this fall running celebration features routes through area parks and greenbelts, crisp air, and colorful leaves. Participants can choose from a Kids Dash, 1 mile, 5K, or 10K, offering options for every age and experience level. A Thanksgiving-themed costume contest will award the Biggest Turkey trophy along with a prize bundle that includes two future race entries, a gift card, and a Bigfoot Running Company swag pack. Expect finisher medals, race tees, enthusiastic staff, live awards, music from a DJ, and a lively finish line celebration. Youth pricing is available, with children 12 and under able to run the 5K or 10K for $15. Women in the Woods offers a weekend focused on camaraderie, outdoor skills, and fun for young women in Scouts BSA. Female Arrow of Light scouts are encouraged to participate, and units can use the experience to introduce prospective members to Scouting. Male adult leaders and prospective Scouts are welcome to take part as well. Activities include archery and rifle target practice, land navigation with map and compass, and both fishing and fly fishing at a spring-fed pond. Foundational Scout skills tailored for Arrow of Light scouts are part of the learning, along with practical guidance for camping and backpacking. Adults have opportunities to build their own abilities, evenings feature skits and songs at the campfire, and an interfaith worship service provides a thoughtful moment. The gathering also serves as a strong recruitment setting where leaders, Scouts, and potential members can connect and share the spirit of Scouting. The location will be announced.

Cliff Eberhardt brings decades of acclaimed songwriting and performance to the ACMA Listening Room with special guest Louise Mosrie Coombe. Eberhardt discovered his path early, growing up in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, singing with his brothers while his parents played instruments, and quickly taking to the guitar his father showed him. Living near the famed Main Point folk club gave him an early education as he soaked up performances by artists such as James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Bonnie Raitt, and Mississippi John Hurt, while his love of classic pop writers like Cole Porter, the Gershwins, and Rodgers and Hart shaped his ear for melody and lyrical turns. In New York, he balanced long shifts as a taxi driver with steady gigging and studio work, toured on guitar with Richie Havens and Melanie, and lent his voice to national jingles for brands including Coke, Miller Beer, and Chevrolet, which helped fuel his songwriting. He later composed original songs for a Folger Theatre production of The Taming of the Shrew set in an Old West world and appeared onstage as a wise saloon singer, a production that drew strong critical praise and sold-out runs. Critics have lauded his fresh insight and inventive approach to timeless themes. Louise Mosrie Coombe joins the show with songs rooted in the South, the place that shaped her storytelling voice. Her album Home blends bluegrass, country, and folk, threading vivid tales of southern life, and she has even been compared to William Faulkner with a guitar. A classically trained vocalist with a powerful pop sensibility and a touch of twang, she is an award-winning songwriter known for engaging stories behind the songs and an assured, heartfelt delivery. The LaPorte Book Club celebrates the close of the year with an annual holiday gathering that highlights the stories read, the conversations enjoyed, and the connections formed. Expect light food and drinks, casual games with prizes, a look back at the year’s standout moments and favorite titles, and plenty of time to mingle in a cozy, festive atmosphere. An optional book-themed gift exchange is planned; participants may bring a wrapped item such as a book, mug, blanket, tea, or bookmarks, with more details to come as the event approaches.
