Inside the Discovery Engine: How Cutting Edge Robotics Drives Breakthroughs at UF Scripps
Learn how advanced automation is accelerating biomedical breakthroughs at The Wertheim UF Scripps Institute. Tim Spicer, Ph.D., Senior Scientific Director in the Department of Molecular Medicine and a member of the UF Health Cancer Institute, will share how University of Florida researchers in Jupiter use cutting edge robotics and high throughput experimentation to speed drug discovery. He oversees highly sophisticated robotic screening systems that can run hundreds of thousands of automated assays, quickly flagging candidate compounds for cancer and other diseases. The session highlights the institute’s research capabilities, the collaborations these tools enable across UF, and the new pathways they open for biomedical innovation in Palm Beach County.

Support Erase PTSD Now at a lively quarter auction hosted at Nieko's Neighborhood Bar. Bring a few rolls of quarters to bid, pick up a $2 paddle, and take part in a gift basket raffle and a 50/50 raffle. Erase PTSD Now is a 501(c)(3) working to end the impact of post traumatic stress by connecting people with effective care, funding research, and increasing awareness of trauma and its effects. The organization helps remove cost barriers so survivors, including veterans, first responders, and civilians, can access treatments such as the Stellate Ganglion Block procedure, which is intended to help calm the body’s stress response. It also works to reduce stigma, educate communities, and promote long term recovery for individuals, families, and communities.
