Nam Knights Bike Night

Nam Knights Bike Night brings the motorcycle community to Disco Witch Brewing for an evening of bikes, with a focus on Harleys, live music, and cold beer in support of a charitable effort. Stuff the Bus returns as the AINCAR Community Outreach Committee leads a community school supply drive benefiting local students and teachers in need. A Nassau County school bus will be stationed at the AINCAR office for in-person drop offs, where visitors can bring supplies and snap a photo as the bus fills. Those unable to attend in person can contribute through an Amazon Wish List by adding items to the cart and selecting the AINCAR office as the shipping destination at checkout. Offices can request collection bins to run their own drives, then return filled bins on the event day. The aim is to pack the bus with essential supplies for the community.

Songwriter Competition- Hosted by Joyce Whorton

The Inkwell Art Bar hosts a classic, theme-driven songwriter competition led by Joyce Whorton, with all original songs centered on the topic Obstacles. The night is designed as a quiet listening room, so audiences are asked to stay attentive while artists perform. Anyone who needs to rehearse or chat is directed to the courtyard, and the Art Bar side serves as a staging area where instrument cases can be stored to keep the stage clear. This event also champions the venue’s open mic community. To be eligible, entrants must have performed at the venue’s open mic at least three times and recorded those appearances on a separate sign-in sheet. Musicians are encouraged to support the venue, avoid playing and leaving immediately, and remain to encourage fellow performers. On arrival, performers sign in and the order is set by drawing names from a hat. If someone is not ready when called, they will move to the end of the list and may still perform if time allows. Exceptions for recurring commitments or travel from more than 45 miles away can be considered with advance notice to the host. The entry fee is $10, which funds prize money. Three independent judges evaluate each song based on lyrical content, melody, and structure. Performance delivery is not scored, only the composition. Entrants should bring three printed copies of their lyrics for the judges and may request their sheets back afterward. Professional sound and a standard drum kit are provided. Artists who need additional gear such as keyboards, pedals, extra amps, or percussion should coordinate setup with the host in advance, and everyone performing together must be ready when their name is called. Respect for the staff, host, fellow musicians, and the quiet listening atmosphere is expected throughout. Those interested in serving on the judging panel can contact the host for an initial interview, with selections made by Joyce Whorton and The Inkwell Art Bar team.

A 9-hole individual Stableford league at The Golf Club at North Hampton invites golfers to compete against a personal points quota tied to handicap. The entry fee is $20 cash with weekly cash payouts, and there is an optional $10 cash skins game organized by divisions. Players choose season-long tees from Blue, White, Green for those 65 and older, or Red for ladies. Scoring awards 8 points for a double eagle, 6 for an eagle, 4 for a birdie, 2 for par, 1 for bogey, 0 for double bogey, and minus 1 for triple bogey or worse. Each golfer’s starting quota equals 18 minus their 9-hole handicap, and anyone without a GHIN begins at 18. Quotas are recalculated weekly using up to the most recent five scores. To participate, book a tee time during the event window, play with at least two other participants to be eligible, and complete either 9 or 18 holes, with only one 9-hole round counting toward the competition. An impromptu Mahjong session recently sparked big interest at Rollin' With My Gnomies Board Games & Cafe, so the momentum continues with a casual, social meetup. Beginners are welcome. Thomas has picked up the fundamentals and will be available to guide new players as they learn. The aim is to connect people, grow a local Mahjong scene, and enjoy friendly games together. The café currently has a single Mahjong set and plans to add more over time. If you have your own set, please bring it so multiple tables can be in play. There is a $5 table fee per person, which also covers continued access to the board game library of more than 500 titles after your Mahjong games. A full menu is offered on site, and outside food or drinks are not allowed.

Joy to the Children - "Christmas in July" Annual Fundraiser 2026

Green Turtle Tavern hosts the annual Christmas in July fundraiser benefiting Joy To The Children, a community effort that helps provide gifts, food, clothing, bedding, books, and a joyful Christmas Day celebration for children in need across Nassau County. Expect live music from the Fat Cactus Duo, snacks provided by Happy Tomato, raffles, games, and an on site 50/50 with a minimum pot of $2,200 that continues to grow. Raffle ticket box prizes and a lottery tree will be featured, and an online auction will run with prize pickup available at the event. Participants will see how to correctly collect samples of soil, water, and livestock feces, then receive guidance on interpreting the resulting data and laboratory reports. Lend a hand among the vines and help harvest this year’s muscadine grapes alongside the estate team. After the work is done, volunteers enjoy a complimentary lunch and a winery beverage. Small groups gather at Salt Restaurant and on the outdoor lawn for a sequence of live cooking presentations that span different cuisines, with this session focusing on barbecue techniques and flavors. After each dish is demonstrated, participants taste the course with a complementary wine pairing, then head back to the demonstration area for the next creation. The program wraps up with a dessert course presented by the pastry team.

Island Hop Craft Beer & Spirits Fest

Island Hop Craft Beer & Spirits Fest at Central Park welcomes families and dogs for a fundraiser organized by Fernandina Beach Main Street. Expect tastings of local and regional craft beers alongside wine and spirits, live music by the Honey Badgers, a variety of food vendors, and a marketplace. The festival goes on rain or shine. Guests are encouraged to bring refillable water bottles, blankets, and chairs. Complimentary parking is available within walking distance across from the entry gate. A VIP Experience offers early entry, a commemorative tasting glass, access to a dedicated VIP tent, and the convenience of a private, air conditioned restroom trailer with three stalls and two sinks. VIP tickets also include automatic entry into exclusive prize drawings, with winners announced during the event and required to be present to claim prizes. General admission includes unlimited beer tastings and a tasting glass. Non drinker tickets provide access to the festival, food, and music.
