Wednesday Points League

At The Golf Club at North Hampton, this Wednesday league centers on a 9-hole individual Stableford competition where golfers work to surpass a personal points quota based on handicap. The entry is $20 in cash with payouts each week, and an optional $10 cash skins game is offered and split into divisions. Players select season-long tees from Blue, White, Green for those 65 and older, or Red for ladies. The opening quota equals 18 minus your 9-hole handicap. Those without a GHIN start at 18, and quotas are updated weekly using up to the last five scores. Scoring awards 8 points for a double eagle, 6 for an eagle, 4 for a birdie, 2 for a par, 1 for a bogey, 0 for a double bogey, and subtracts 1 point for a triple bogey or worse. Quota results and skins are paid out in cash each week. To be eligible, book a Wednesday tee time and play with at least two other participants. You may play 9 or 18 holes, although only one 9-hole round counts for the league. Results and payouts are available for pickup on Thursdays. The grille offers Happy Hour after the round. Mediumship Gallery

An intimate evening of connection, insight, and spirit communication led by internationally trained psychic medium Kit Mitchell. Presented in a gallery format, this small-group experience, limited to about 15 guests, offers the opportunity to witness messages from loved ones in spirit. Personal readings are not guaranteed for every attendee, and many people find meaning simply by being present for the connections that unfold. The environment is warm and respectful, with an emphasis on clear and specific evidence from spirit. Expect a shared experience that blends comfort and connection with moments of lightness and humor. To keep each message clear, guests may be asked to reply with simple yes or no answers. Some moments can feel emotional, yet the overall tone is often uplifting, healing, and memorable. This is a group event. Those seeking a private, one-on-one experience may prefer a private session instead. About the medium: Kit Mitchell was born and raised in England and brings extensive experience in spiritual modalities. As an evidential medium, he offers specific information, including personality traits from loved ones in spirit, to help validate each connection. He often perceives physical sensations that mirror the traits, emotions, or ailments of the communicating spirit, adding depth to his messages. His connection with spirit began in childhood, including a formative experience six months after his mother’s passing. Raised in a Christian household, he later became involved with the Spiritualist Church and trained with Rob Brown and Mavis Pitilla, as well as at the Arthur Findlay College in England, where he met his wife, Natalie. He is the author of Dying into the Arms of Love and holds titles that include Reiki Master, Reverend, Teacher, Therapist, Life Coach, Master Energy Colour Healer, and state-licensed hypnotherapist with diplomas in Hypnotherapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Transpersonal Hypnotherapy. He is also a husband, father, and grandfather.

S.O.S. Al-Anon Open Meeting — Fridays at 11 AM

An open Al‑Anon Family Group meets weekly at the Alachua Club in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island, offering a free and confidential space for people whose lives are impacted by someone else’s drinking. Al‑Anon is a mutual support fellowship for family members and friends of alcoholics. It is separate from AA and is intended for those affected by another person’s drinking, including spouses, parents, children, siblings, partners, friends, and other loved ones. In these meetings, participants share personal experiences and encouragement, which can ease isolation, deepen understanding of how alcoholism affects families, and support healthier responses one day at a time. Because this is an open meeting, family and friends are welcome, and observers may attend too, including healthcare professionals, students, reporters, and others seeking to learn more about the impact of alcoholism on loved ones.
