A monthly sing and play along at the Broward Main Library brings a welcoming community together with Laura and the FUN Florida Ukulele Network. This session highlights a Rock and Roll Review featuring classics from the 1950s through the 1980s, creating an easygoing atmosphere on the 6th Floor where smiles and singalongs come naturally. Bring a ukulele or another acoustic instrument, or simply add your voice. Chords and lyrics are projected so everyone can follow along, making it comfortable for both seasoned players and beginners. With songs like Just Keep Swimming, Fish Are Friends Not Food, and Go With the Flow, Finding Nemo KIDS turns the stage into a colorful underwater adventure about family, friendship, and courage. Performed by campers ages 6 to 9 from the Performance Project and Broward Center Summer Camp, this production takes place at the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. This free, 2.5-hour program for children ages 5 to 12 explores nutrition, wellness, and the power of everyday choices, highlighting how those choices can support personal health and the planet. Sessions feature hands-on gardening such as planting or mulching, interactive food demonstrations that introduce new vegetables and promote healthy eating, plus yoga and other movement, breathwork, mindfulness, and creative art time. Educators keep things active before winding down for reflection and art, showing that food and learning can be fun. An RSVP through Eventbrite is required to attend.
