Flamingo Felting Workshop

Create a cheerful needle felted flamingo at The Artistic Flip Flop in a beginner friendly class led by Lisa Lombardi. All supplies are included, everyone starts from the basics, and your finished artwork will be mounted in a 6 inch embroidery hoop so it is ready to hang. No prior experience is required, just a willingness to slow down and make something by hand. The design brings a touch of tropical Florida to your walls and also works as a thoughtful handmade gift. The fee is $35 per person. Because space is limited and preparation happens in advance, purchases are non refundable. If you cannot attend, you may have another person take your spot. Lisa has explored creative traditions across more than 25 countries. She learned Batik in Indonesia from local artisans and first encountered needle felting during Waldorf teacher training, then expanded into wet felting and felting on felt while discovering the many ways wool can be shaped into art.

Father's Day BBQ at Venice Beach!

Celebrate Father’s Day at Venice Beach with a relaxed cookout and optional shore diving. Fathers eat at no charge, children 10 and under are free, and other guests are $20 per person. Expect BBQ chicken, burgers, and hot dogs, and feel welcome to bring a side dish to share. Food will be served in waves throughout the day. Divers are encouraged to explore the shoreline. Each dive team must bring its own dive flag. Helpful items include a mesh bag for collecting shark teeth, a flashlight, a compass, and a buddy connection line. Typical conditions feature water around 85°F, visibility near 5 feet that can vary, and depths of roughly 10 to 20 feet, which is great for fossil hunting but makes buddy communication more challenging. Gear rentals and purchases are available from Woods & Water, equipment transport is offered for $25 per set, private dive guides are available for $50, and a pool-based scuba skills refresher is recommended if it has been more than a year since your last dive with sessions starting at $95. Look for covered pavilions near the boardwalk to the beach next to Sharky’s on the Pier on the southwest side of the parking lot. This gathering also marks Eddie’s first Father’s Day. The Still Space Group Healing

Step into a calm, in-person hour dedicated to feeling safe in your body and quiet in your mind. This gentle group space invites a pause from the noise, with no expectations placed on you and no checklist to complete. Settle in with a comforting cup of cacao and the steady presence of others who are choosing to slow down. Guided by Heather Dempsey and Jessy Pearson, each gathering adapts to what the group needs in the moment. You might experience soothing practices that support the nervous system and your energy, reflective emotional exploration, crystal-based support, and a grounding cacao ritual, woven so you can relax rather than analyze. The room is welcoming, the pace is unhurried, and there is nothing to perform. You do not need to arrive with a specific intention, only a wish to feel more at ease, peaceful, and clear. Participants often report calm that lingers between sessions, better clarity about what truly matters, boundaries that feel natural, and a deepening sense of self-trust, care, and acceptance. Many look forward to returning. Attendance is intentionally small, with seating for up to ten people to keep the experience personal. Advance registration is required and closes the day before each session. If registration has closed, texting to ask about last-minute openings is welcome.
