AUTHOR VISIT with Historical Fiction Author Lynn Cullen!
Historical fiction author Lynn Cullen leads a discussion of her novel "When We Were Brilliant." The book follows Marilyn Monroe and Eve Arnold, an unlikely partnership between a famous star and a photographer working to gain recognition, and the pact they make that changes the course of their lives. Cullen is the national bestselling author of "Mrs. Poe" and "The Woman with the Cure." Copies are available in store at a 20 percent discount.
Johns Creek BooksAvenue Kids
Avenue East Cobb hosts an afternoon designed especially for little ones with Avenue Kids. Each month features a new theme filled with hands-on activities, creative crafts, and playful games that nurture imagination. The program is recommended for children younger than seven. Monthly highlights include Farmyard Fun, Home Run Hangout, Under the Sea, Christmas in July, Candyland, and an out-of-this-world theme. Battle and Brew hosts a weekly trading card game hangout centered on Riftbound and Pokémon. For Riftbound, Nexus Nights offers casual organized play where players can bring a favorite deck or try new builds, play one on one, team up two on two, or jump into free for all games. It suits newcomers learning the ropes as well as experienced players who want a relaxed spot to tune lists before moving into Summoner Skirmish. Attendees can receive a complimentary Nexus Nights promo pack while supplies last, limited to one per person. Pokémon fans can trade, battle, and share their latest pulls. Casual tables are available with room for impromptu matches, and card binders are welcome.
EPICureanism at Nowak’s
A culinary collaboration in Atlanta brings Chef Kevin Joseph of Raw Lab together with Blaiss Nowak at Nowak’s Steakhouse. A sequence of courses highlights oysters, caviar, and other seafood, along with dishes prepared over open flames, a tasting journey through wine, and the Sea Salt Social. The format invites participation and curiosity, with discovery placed at the center of the experience to underscore the difference between eating and dining. Attendance is limited to 25 guests, and tickets are available through Resy.
