Adopt-A-Mile Road Beautification 2026

Volunteers are appreciated for a community cleanup where cyclists and neighbors work together to tidy a short stretch of roadway adopted by Bike Alpharetta, helping keep the city looking its best. Meet in the west parking lot of Manning Oaks Elementary School. The City of Alpharetta supplies trash pickers, plastic bags, and safety vests. Participants should bring their own gloves, a bottle of water, and comfortable walking shoes. Each event works best with about 10 to 12 volunteers who can walk up to one mile, rain or shine, and enjoy fresh air while supporting a cleaner community.

Lucky's Live Friday Night Presents Soul Dynamics

Soul Dynamics brings live music to Lucky's Backyard and Stage in Roswell, creating a dance-ready atmosphere in an outdoor space that welcomes families and dogs. Bring a picnic blanket or lawn chair to relax while you enjoy the show. Burgers and cold beer are available from the venue, and outside food or drinks are not permitted. By attending, guests consent to photography and video without compensation, and Halcyon may use this media for future publicity.

Avenue Live

Experience live music from local performers at Avenue Live in The Plaza. Guests are welcome to bring their own tailgate chairs for seating. Coolers and outside beverages are not permitted at Avenue East Cobb, and Avenue restaurants offer takeout so you can grab dinner or a sweet treat while you listen. Plaza rules apply, including no throwing balls, no scooters or bikes, and children must remain off the stage at all times. In case of inclement weather, any cancellation will be shared on the @avenueeastcobb social channels. Tree ID with the Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy

This two-hour guided hike at the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area’s Island Ford Unit is led in partnership by Trees Atlanta and the Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy. Participants will explore local trees, practice identifying common invasive species, and learn about the Conservancy’s work to care for park units along the river. The CRNRA recorded 3.5 million visits in 2020, more than the Grand Canyon and Yosemite. Information will also be shared about how the City of Sandy Springs is participating in Trees Atlanta’s One Million Tree Initiative and ways to get involved. The Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy, the recognized friends organization for the CRNRA, supports fifteen park units that span 48 miles of the Chattahoochee River across metro Atlanta, with a mission centered on building community support and promoting stewardship of natural and cultural resources. Trees Atlanta docents Maxine and Kent Watkins, Sandy Springs residents who enjoy hiking and discovering new parks, have contributed to the organization for years through planting, pruning, and leading tours.

American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED Training

Learn practical first aid, CPR, and AED skills in an open-to-the-public class at Gruvn Yoga. Designed for individuals aged 12 and older, this small-group training is limited to 12 participants to support focused, hands-on practice. The course follows a blended learning format that combines online coursework with an in-person skills session, and the online portion must be completed beforehand. Instruction covers how to recognize and respond to sudden illness and injury, as well as breathing and cardiac emergencies. Participants who successfully complete all requirements receive a digital American Red Cross certification that is valid for two years and meets OSHA workplace standards and other regulatory requirements.

No Limits Pickleball Challenge

The No Limits Pickleball Challenge brings a community fundraiser to Sandy Springs Racquet Center in support of the Center for Movement Challenges. Players from the Atlanta area at levels 2.5 through 4+ will compete in doubles using a round robin format, with medals awarded to high performers. Participants can choose between two ways to play. In the Individual Player Session, players register on their own and rotate partners, with awards based on total wins and points. In the Team Session, pre-registered doubles pairs compete together throughout, with medals for teams earning the most wins and points. The musical Chicago takes the stage at North Springs High School, performed by the Teen Academy. Multiple performances are scheduled, including a dedicated understudy show. Each performance runs about two hours and includes a 15 minute intermission.

Prana + Pendulum Playshop

That sensation is energy, prana, the life force. Kember, an energy work practitioner who has worked with the chakras and the subtle body for more than a decade, leads an interactive playshop at Lift Yoga (Alpharetta). Participants receive a crystal pendulum to keep and learn how to use this simple yet powerful tool to observe and connect with the movement of energy. The group explores the seven main chakras and gently practices sensing, seeing, and working with energy in a playful, curious way.

Earth Day Artist Swap

Refresh your studio and keep usable materials in circulation at The Art Center’s Earth Day Artist Swap, presented alongside the Upcycled exhibition. This community exchange invites artists to share gently used supplies with no buying or haggling involved. Bring a reusable bag, leave items you no longer need, and take home the tools and materials that inspire your next project. Donations may include small organizing containers such as bins or drawer units, studio tools like easels and clay tools, and display equipment for art shows. Large, heavy furniture is not accepted. If you have something substantial like a vendor tent to pass along, you may leave information about it instead. For guidance on what is welcome, refer to Scraplanta’s donation guidelines. If you are unsure about a specific item, call 770-623-8448. While visiting, you can also look into Scraplanta’s recycled papermaking workshop for ages 9 and up, which teaches how to turn old junk mail into handmade paper. Coming Summer 2026! Little Builders Club (Ages 10-12)

Young makers can participate in a workshop to discover woodworking. With guidance, children will use tools to construct wooden projects that they can take home. Projects may include birdhouses, wooden name signs, and seasonal creations. This class helps children develop focus, patience, creativity, and confidence, while allowing them to experience building something with their own hands. This is for children who enjoy building, designing, and creating.

Minis and Mimosas $20 | Every 2nd and 4th Saturday

Held on the second and fourth Saturday, this $20 creative session at Battle & Brew Sandy Springs focuses on painting miniature figures with materials included and guidance from an instructor, paired with a free mimosa. A full brunch menu is available to purchase separately. Spots are limited.

A free, family-friendly Maternal Health Expo at Johns Creek Baptist Church offers support for every stage of the parenthood journey, from planning for pregnancy and expecting to postpartum life and raising young children. Expert-led sessions cover maternal and family wellness, and local vendors share products and services for parents and families. Food and refreshments are available. Families, especially seniors, are welcome to enjoy time together at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve. Attendees will have a guided tour of a historic building, followed by a collaborative craft activity for all ages.

Riftbound April Summoner Skirmish

Riftbound April Summoner Skirmish brings a full competitive atmosphere to Battle & Brew Sandy Springs. Players arrive with their best constructed decks and compete through Swiss rounds that lead into a top cut. Expect tight decision making, clutch draws, and the kind of table talk and mind games that define a high energy TCG setting. Participation includes exclusive promo items, top cut contenders earn additional rewards, and the champion walks away with bragging rights along with a step toward bigger competitive play. Between rounds, there is ample space to play, trade, and theorycraft, and the venue keeps food and drinks available throughout the event.

PINTS FOR PUPS

At Six Bridges Brewing, attendees can enjoy pints while meeting foster dogs and browsing rescue merchandise, with plenty of opportunities for slobbery puppy kisses. A portion of beer sales will benefit the rescue, and pup cups will be on hand for all dogs attending. The brewery grew from a father and son’s ambition to build a craft operation, bringing together Charles’s Georgia Tech chemical engineering background and homebrewing with Clay’s brewing experience in Colorado and his work as a fireman after returning to north Georgia. Their shared passion led to the first craft brewery in Johns Creek and Crabapple, Georgia.

Crawfish, Shrimp & Oyster Festival

The Tavern at Roswell Junction is hosting its first Oyster Crawfish Festival. Tickets include entry and entertainment, and food and beverages may be purchased. There will be live music, as well as a live DJ. Crawfish platters with shrimp, new potatoes, and corn will be available until they sell out. Other options include fresh or grilled oysters, fried oysters, fried shrimp, and fried chicken baskets with fries.

75th Anniversary Iron Pour

Celebrate the 75th anniversary of Red Top Mountain with a live iron pour experience, a community gathering, and a lakeside atmosphere. You can also create your own cast piece during the event, scratch blocks will be available for reservation.

West Coast Swing Dance Party | Swing Invasion Weekly Event

Experience an evening of West Coast Swing at American Legion Post 201 with classes for every level plus a lively social dance. The night opens with a free Competitive Edge prep session with Hailey Toro, followed by a choice between beginner fundamentals and a level 2 class that builds your skills. Later, continue with technique for newer dancers, contemporary patterns and advanced training with Elizabeth Williams, or a Competitive Edge class focused on musicality led by Bonnie Cannon. The social features music by DJ Rich Kopels. Any lesson purchase includes entry to the dance, and those who attend the early lesson block can take a second class at no additional cost. Mini private lessons with the instructors are available during the social, and a cash bar will be on site. Pricing is 12 dollars for a class, 7 dollars for the social without lessons, and 15 dollars for the Competitive Edge class. Lauren's Run & Picnic

Now in its 32nd year, Lauren’s Run & Picnic brings together families, schools, and companies to form teams that walk and run in support of CURE Childhood Cancer. Over time, participants have helped raise more than $6.2 million for lifesaving pediatric cancer research. The event is presented by AutoNation. The day includes race day registration with number pickup, a 5K run followed by awards, a 2K fun run and walk, and a Tot Trot for children ages 4 and under. After the races, participants and families affected by childhood cancer gather for the CURE Annual Picnic, featuring a wide variety of games, prizes, detailed face painting, giant inflatables, music and dancing, arts and crafts, and a complete lunch. The picnic also serves as a reunion for CURE families and a full day of activities for all ages.

Bike Roswell! Mayor's Ride

Set at Roswell City Hall, Bike Roswell! Mayor’s Ride is the biggest fundraiser for Roswell’s only bicycle advocacy organization. Registered participants receive a complimentary T shirt, support at rest stops, and a VIP luncheon after the ride. The ride will proceed regardless of weather, and organizers will focus on participant safety even though conditions may be unpredictable. Proceeds benefit cycling advocacy in Roswell. This event is for those ages 8 and up. You can sip, paint, and relax. Those who arrive late may be unable to paint. You can create a long-lasting all natural soy candle with over a dozen scents! If you’re joining with others but reserving separately, include your group’s name or point person in the Special Request box, and youll be seated together. They offer wine, beer, soda, water, mixed drinks, and light snacks. A valid ID is required to purchase alcohol, and you must be 21 or older. All supplies and aprons are provided, so please dress accordingly. River Roots Science Stations

HOMESCHOOL: DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WILDLIFE TECHNICIAN

Middle school homeschoolers explore wildlife rehabilitation science by taking on the role of veterinary technicians. Through a series of realistic simulation stations, participants practice routine tasks connected to rescue, recovery, and monitoring of animals. This program is designed for ages 11 to 14 and is taught by Ashley Blocker, BSc. Sessions take place in the STEM Lab, Suite 21. Enrollment is available for the full semester or for individual labs. The fee is $275 for the semester or $25 per lab, with a 10 percent sibling discount.

Historical fiction author Lynn Cullen leads a discussion of her novel "When We Were Brilliant." Discover a surprising chapter too, when cards powered a matchmaking program at the University of Iowa in 1963. The 12th annual Forsyth Down & Derby, hosted by the Rotary Club of Lanier Forsyth, blends Kentucky Derby excitement with an evening of live music, dancing, open bars, and games. From the Earth Brewing Company hosts a one-night celebration of the classic H.O.R.D.E. era as The Core rekindles the feel of the landmark 1990s tours. This show condenses the range of a traveling festival into a single stage, threading together music tied to Widespread Panic, Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Blues Traveler, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, The Allman Brothers Band, Gov't Mule, Spin Doctors, and more. The set zeroes in on 1992 to 1998, when the sound was loose, exploratory, and wide open, spotlighting songs that helped define that era and still resonate. It nods to a pre-phone, pre-streaming world when discovery happened in the room and the music held center stage. Fairy-Tale Tea 2026

La Salette Hall transforms into a storybook setting where guests are greeted by princesses and invited to place a toy at the giving tree. After taking a seat for high tea, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and beverages. Activities include crafts, face painting, and story time with princesses, along with a whimsical photo area for memorable snapshots. Candid images will be captured during the event and made available to download. All ticket proceeds and donated toys support Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Tickets are $10 per adult, and each child is asked to bring one new toy to donate, with stuffed animals not accepted. Seating is limited, and a seat is required for every attendee, including children, except for those under 2. At The Forge Roswell, this inaugural team competition brings Girls Gone Rx and Guys Gone Rx together for a coed throwdown.
