Art Call - National Juried Art Show - Submissions Due

Artists across the country are invited to submit up to three works for a national juried exhibition. Registration covers up to three entries for $40, with a $35 rate available to CAC members. After registering, participants receive the prospectus and submission guidelines, and acceptance notifications are sent by email. A panel of three accredited judges uses a point system to select top awards, with cash prizes of $500 for first place, $250 for second, $150 for third, and $100 for Honorable Mention. Additional recognition includes a $75 People’s Choice award and a $100 award chosen by the Douglas County Art Guild through a private jury. Cash awards are provided by Amazon. Accepted artists are asked to have their work prepared and ready to hang for the exhibition. An opening reception hosted by the Douglas County Art Guild will feature the announcement of award recipients, and the People’s Choice will be revealed at the close of the show.

ATL Black Fae Fest will march in the Juneteenth Parade, celebrating creativity, community, and freedom in a citywide procession in Atlanta. Participants are encouraged to showcase imaginative style with fae-inspired outfits, cosplay, fantasy fashion, cultural attire, and banners. Complimentary water, bubbles, and ribbons will be available in limited quantities for those taking part. To walk in the parade, advance RSVP and a signed liability waiver are required. Personal vehicles are not permitted in the procession. For safety, maintain distance from moving parade vehicles and follow directions from coordinators and volunteers. Lineup starts promptly and staging moves quickly, so those who arrive late may be unable to participate. Southern Fried Queer Pride 2026 Festival

Southern Fried Queer Pride brings its 12th annual festival to Little Five Points in Atlanta, celebrating the theme Seeds of Resistance. Centered on the South’s tradition of organizing and collective care, this gathering highlights how small beginnings can grow into movements that nourish resilience, joy, liberation, and community. The festival returns with signature programming, including an artist market that takes over the street, high-energy dance parties, a wide-ranging slate of performances, and carefully curated workshops and educational experiences, with more to come. Proceeds directly support the participating artists and organizers and help sustain ongoing community work. Festival flyers are created by Sarah Al-Khayyal. Held at Little 5 Points Community Center as part of the Southern Fried Queer Pride 2026 Festival, it offers a welcoming space to connect across ages. Despite the name, the menu is not spaghetti. Food will be served with vegan and gluten free options, and the night features several rounds of bingo. Accessibility and safety are prioritized. The program is indoors and seated, there is no loud music or moving lights, and accessible restrooms and exits are available. Masks are required and will be provided, with additional protective supplies offered at the door. Parking is available in nearby lots and on surrounding streets. The Inman Park-Reynoldstown MARTA Station is within walking distance, and using rideshare is encouraged.
