Her work with Grammy winner Tom Scott produced an album that captured Ukulele Album of the Year and Instrumental Composition of the Year at the 2013 Nā Hōkū, and she later earned the 2024 Instrumental Composition of the Year for Heartbeat Melody with Chardonnay. Classically trained on piano from childhood and devoted to the ukulele since age eleven, she also composes, arranges, produces, and teaches. William Shakespeare's Long Lost First Play (abridged)

Maui OnStage presents the second show of its season with William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (abridged), a quick-witted comedy by Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor, first produced by the Reduced Shakespeare Company and directed here by Kristi Scott. The production is staged at the Historic Iao Theater in Wailuku. The story plays with the notion of a youthful Shakespeare manuscript allegedly discovered in a Leicester parking lot, then whirls together many of his iconic characters and familiar lines into one new caper. The mythical source is jokingly described as 100 hours long, distilled here into an approximately 90 minute performance. The show has earned praise from outlets such as the New York Times and the Washington Post for its irreverent humor and wordplay, with additional kudos from Ken Ludwig and the Napa Valley Register for its lively blend of Shakespearean favorites. Tickets are priced from $10 to $45. Content guidance notes comic scuffles, mild innuendo, bawdy humor, and a few rude words, with a recommendation for ages 10 to 13 and up at parental discretion. The 15th annual Paddle Imua race and Ohana Festival follows the celebrated Maliko Downwinder from Maliko Gulch to Kanaha Beach Park, uniting ocean athletes for a thrilling run along Maui’s North Shore. Participants take on the course using a wide range of crafts, including SUP and prone boards, OC1, OC2, OC6, surf ski, sailing, SUP foil, kite foil, wing foil, parawing, kiting, and windsurfing. Suited to seasoned paddlers and anyone who enjoys an open-ocean challenge, the event supports Maui’s keiki and is among the first stops in the 2026 Koa Kai Triple Crown, a foiling series connecting Maui, Molokai, and Oahu. The finish at Kanaha Beach Park leads into an Ohana Festival featuring music, prizes, food, and a festive atmosphere, with chances to meet some of the children who benefit. Proceeds support Camp Imua, a one-week overnight recreational camp for children ages 7 to 14 with special needs, cognitive delays, or developmental disabilities.

Lahaina Homecoming is a community reunion centered on food, music, storytelling, culture, and meaningful connection, welcoming families as they return to Lāhainā together for the first time since the fires. With support from Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines, as many as 80 displaced residents will be provided flights home to attend. Displaced residents and ʻohana are invited to share a brief video about their story and what coming home means to them, uplifting voices from across the community.

Charles Esten is an American actor, comedian, and singer-songwriter known for his roles as Deacon Claybourne on ABC/CMT’s Nashville, Ward Cameron on Netflix’s Outer Banks, and Cain Ross on Angel Studios’ HOMESTEAD. He released his independent debut album Love Ain’t Pretty in early 2024, has surpassed 35 million streams, and holds a 2018 Guinness World Records title for the most consecutive weeks releasing an original digital single after delivering 54 songs in 54 weeks. He has appeared nearly 200 times at the Grand Ole Opry, performed headline tours and festivals in the U.S. and Europe, serves as the National Honorary Spokesperson for Blood Cancer United’s Light The Night Walk, and is a board member and volunteer for Musicians On Call.

Celebrated as a grandmaster of kī hō‘alu, he brings five decades of artistry on guitar and ‘ukulele along with his renowned falsetto singing, recognized with multiple Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards and Grammy nominations. Raised in the musical traditions of Kalapana on Hawai‘i Island, he honors the roots of slack key while exploring new creative paths, sharing virtuosity, heartfelt stories, and aloha. The program is hosted by rising slack key talent Shem Kahawaii, with hula dancer Wainani Kealoha adding graceful choreography to the music. Known as a stand-up comedian, podcaster, actor, and social media creator with a background as a collegiate athlete, he has built a combined online following of more than 800,000 across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. His sketches and stand-up clips are widely recognized within Polynesian communities around the world, and he has filled clubs, theaters, and arenas across the country. His touring has reached 24 cities in 14 states, five islands, and two countries. Two recent YouTube specials, Strictly Aloha and Talk Story: The Crowd Work Special, offer a taste of his humor.
