This two-hour experience also offers a choice of guided or self-guided access to a cultural costume museum, where exhibits follow Hawaiʻi’s history from Polynesian migrations to later Asian and Western arrivals, highlighting how each community influenced dance, music, and daily life. Guests can create a small keepsake through hands-on activities such as kukui nut work or weaving with ti leaf or lauhala, and there are opportunities to take photos with the performers. Seating is limited.

Returning after the storms, this donation-based sound bath brings the community together on the lawn at Kamaole 3 beach in Kihei to raise collective energy and offer healing intentions for the islands and the planet. At Maui Nui Botanical Gardens, a free, family-friendly festival centers on niu (coconut), highlighting celebration, renewal, and protection throughout Maui Nui. Activities include niu sprout giveaways while supplies last, keiki-friendly experiences, and hands-on workshops led by cultural practitioners. The program features pāpale lau niu, food processing and cooking demonstrations and workshops, kanu niu demonstration planting, and presentations with opportunities to talk story alongside coconut industry experts. Paddle Imua 2026
The 15th annual Paddle Imua race and Ohana Festival follows the celebrated Maliko Downwinder from Maliko Gulch to Kanaha Beach Park, uniting ocean athletes for a thrilling run along Maui’s North Shore. Participants take on the course using a wide range of crafts, including SUP and prone boards, OC1, OC2, OC6, surf ski, sailing, SUP foil, kite foil, wing foil, parawing, kiting, and windsurfing. Suited to seasoned paddlers and anyone who enjoys an open-ocean challenge, the event supports Maui’s keiki and is among the first stops in the 2026 Koa Kai Triple Crown, a foiling series connecting Maui, Molokai, and Oahu. The finish at Kanaha Beach Park leads into an Ohana Festival featuring music, prizes, food, and a festive atmosphere, with chances to meet some of the children who benefit. Proceeds support Camp Imua, a one-week overnight recreational camp for children ages 7 to 14 with special needs, cognitive delays, or developmental disabilities.
