Unravel & Restore: Releasing the Patterns That Keep You Holding It All
Created for caretakers, helpers, teachers, healers, and other dependable "strong ones" who may be quietly worn out, this trauma-informed workshop explores how patterns like people pleasing, perfectionism, and taking on too much responsibility begin, and how these once-protective strategies can lead to burnout, numbness, or a sense of disconnection. Guided by Erin McGuire-Henson, a healer and somatic guide who wrote The Art of Unraveling, and inspired by her book, the experience weaves together nervous system understanding, emotional awareness, and compassionate self-inquiry with an emphasis on safety rather than self-improvement. Participants can look forward to grounded discussion about the pressure to be the reliable one, gentle reflection on personal habits, simple practices to support regulation and reconnection, and restorative movement to help the body settle. No prior study of trauma or nervous system science is needed, and the space is welcoming to wellness practitioners, yoga teachers, caregivers, empaths, highly sensitive people, those who feel responsible for others’ feelings or outcomes, and anyone moving through exhaustion or quiet resentment, including those who appear to function well yet feel depleted. Here, unraveling means loosening survival habits that formed for protection and moving toward greater safety, awareness, and permission to be oneself.
