A long-running tradition in the Magic Valley, Rim2Rim spans 7.5 miles and both starts and finishes at Bass Lake on the Blue Lakes Country Club grounds within the Snake River Canyon. The route opens with a 6 percent climb out of the canyon, with a Da$h4Ca$h award for the first competitors to reach the top. Runners then encounter themed water stations, cross the Perrine Bridge, pass the Visitors Center, descend the 6 percent Canyon Springs grade through Canyon Springs Golf Course, and take the Pipe Line Bridge back to the country club to finish at Bass Lake. At the finish, Habitat for Humanity volunteers and homeowners greet participants, and the Blue Lakes Country Club chef serves a gourmet luncheon. The race serves as Habitat for Humanity of the Magic Valley’s signature community awareness and fundraising event, underscoring its work to build strength, stability, and self reliance through shelter and the idea that strong homes support strong communities.

This event spotlights Boz Scaggs, an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist with a career that spans decades. After early work with Steve Miller in The Ardells and the Steve Miller Band, he embarked on a solo path in 1969. His breakthrough came with the 1976 album Silk Degrees, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and featured the hits Lido Shuffle and Lowdown. Platinum follow ups included Down Two Then Left and Middle Man, the latter producing the Top 40 songs Breakdown Dead Ahead and Jojo. Following a hiatus through much of the 1980s, he resumed recording and touring in 1988, took part in The New York Rock and Soul Revue, and opened Slim’s in San Francisco, a venue that later closed in 2020. He continued to release music and perform through the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s, with 2018’s Out of the Blues as his most recent album. Silk Degrees also helped catalyze the formation of Toto. For those sessions Scaggs assembled David Paich, David Hungate, and Jeff Porcaro, longtime collaborators who went on to form the band and maintained ties with him through various performances and studio work. Interlink Volunteer Caregivers presents an inaugural charity golf scramble that pairs a day on the course with meaningful community impact. The event gathers golfers, sponsors, and supporters to help older adults and people living with chronic illness remain safe, mobile, and independent at home. Proceeds sustain IVC services that are always free, including rides to essential medical and life-sustaining appointments, installation of grab bars to improve home safety, and wheelchair ramps that make entering and leaving the home accessible.
