Kick off August with a hearty morning meal at VFW Post 10043 during the Hot August Breakfast fundraiser benefiting local veterans and veteran programs throughout the LC Valley. The menu features sourdough and classic pancakes, scrambled eggs with ham, biscuits topped with sausage gravy, applesauce, plus coffee and juice. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Families and friends are welcome to gather for breakfast while supporting the community.

A cozy, come-as-you-are creative hangout for all ages that welcomes the LGBTQ+ community, friends, and allies. Children under 13 must attend with an adult. Bring your own project, choose a ceramic or canvas available there, or simply show up and take up space in a supportive environment. There is no obligation to buy anything. Spend time creating, relaxing, and connecting with others. Snacks and drinks are welcome. Activities may include painting, crocheting, journaling, beading, or building, or you can simply enjoy the company. The space is designed to be safe and affirming. Registration is not required, but it is preferred to help estimate attendance.

This weekly meetup at Game Play features open league play for the Pokémon Trading Card Game and welcomes players of any experience level. A Pokémon Professor will be on hand to offer guidance and support for kids and adults throughout their matches. At the end, every participant receives a random card that could be a foil, a promo, or an EX.

Kids spend the afternoon making imaginative artwork in the Art Uncorked Studio with guidance from teacher Alexa. This drop-off session is exclusively for ages 6 to 13, and participants outside this range cannot attend. Children should arrive about five minutes early to put on smocks and settle into their seats. Snacks are part of the experience to keep creativity flowing. Only instructors are in the studio during class. Parents and caregivers should handle drop-off, not plan to stay, and arrive no more than 15 minutes before the session ends for pickup.
