Recycle outdated or broken electronics at a free community drop off led by eCyclers of Idaho in collaboration with Idaho National Laboratory. Attendees can bring items such as TVs, phones, laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, small household appliances, and other devices with or without batteries. The eCyclers team will assist with unloading, then sort items to be repurposed, reused, or carefully dismantled for proper recycling. Data-bearing devices are handled under R2v3-certified data sanitation and responsible recycling standards, with secure wiping and, when needed, physical destruction. This event is open to the general public and takes place at the FT Hall Tribal Transfer Station.

The Independence Day Parade salutes America’s 250th birthday with a community procession and clear guidance for participants. Commercial entries are 60 dollars, nonprofit entries are 25 dollars, and there is no fee for military or veteran entries. Check-in takes place on Harrison Ave, which should be reached via W. Day, W. Carson, W. Greeley, W. Young, or W. Sherman. Do not enter from W. Sublette St. or from Main Street. Volunteers will handle check-in and placement, so please plan for a patient and courteous process. Restrooms at the Pavilion will be open during staging, and public facilities are available along the route at Station Square and Lookout Point. The course includes several turns. If your entry needs walkers to help with corners, keep them with you for the full route. Judging occurs before the parade begins. To be considered, have your entry fully assembled and operating when the judges pass by, as evaluating all entries takes time. Awards will recognize the best overall entry with a grand prize, along with honors for patriotism, originality, business or commercial presentation, and school spirit. The parade proceeds in the order entries arrive, with sponsors and dignitaries placed ahead. The route starts and finishes at N. Main Street and W. Fremont Street. A flagger will direct entries into parking via W. Fremont or W. Wyeth. Wait to unload or remove decorations until you are completely off the route and in the lots, and please clean up after your group to help keep this traditional community event running smoothly.

Montana Shakespeare in the Parks brings free performances of Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice and Much Ado About Nothing to Idaho State University. Enjoy the shows outdoors on the ISU Hutchinson Memorial Quadrangle, with an inclement weather move to the ISU Pond Student Union Ballroom. Seating is first come, first served, and those using tall chairs are asked to sit farther back to keep sightlines clear for blankets and low chairs. A special pre-show performance is planned and will be announced. Picnics are welcome. Audio accessibility is available with personal FM receivers and headphones to borrow from the merchandise table, or by using a free app to listen on a personal device. The experience focuses on opening a quarry and carefully uncovering uncommon plant fossils that contribute to understanding this ancient ecosystem. All tools are provided, training is included, and transportation is covered from Pocatello. The cost is $155, museum members receive a 10% discount, and space is limited so registration is required.
