Angel Gown Studio welcomes volunteers to support the creation of angel gowns in a variety of hands-on roles. Volunteers who sew at an intermediate level or higher are needed to construct gowns and are asked to bring a portable sewing machine. There are plenty of ways to help for those who do not sew, including tracing and cutting pattern pieces, ironing fabric, assembling sewing kits, cutting ribbon, deconstructing wedding dresses, checking in donated gowns, pre-packing angel gowns for delivery, and photographing wedding dresses and completed gowns, along with other similar tasks. A break is provided with bottled water and snacks, and bringing your own lunch is welcome. Participation is flexible, whether for the entire session or just part of it.

Enjoy a relaxed Bingo night with a free-to-play setup. Each participant receives one card that covers ten games. There are chances to win prizes, making it a fun midweek game night for anyone who loves a little friendly competition.

Formed in 2014 in Chicago, the band has played a range of venues since then and offers an upbeat mix of country and western with standout vocals. Food and beverage options are available from local restaurants, and bringing your own chair is recommended.

At Deer Grove East, Shelters 3 and 4, the NF Walk brings together people living with neurofibromatosis and schwannomatosis, along with their families, friends, and supporters, for a family-friendly community fundraiser benefiting the Children’s Tumor Foundation. The walk raises awareness of NF conditions that affect more than 4 million people worldwide and helps fund science aimed at delivering treatments to patients more quickly. These gatherings are held in communities across the United States and offer a chance to connect, show support, and move progress forward. Each step supports research, improves care, and advances the search for better treatments and, one day, a cure. Registration is free, and participants can create or join a team and involve friends and family to amplify their impact.
