The Home Creative Co. brings Disney’s The Little Mermaid to the stage, inspired by the cherished animated film and featuring music by Alan Menken with lyrics by Howard Ashman and additional contributions by Glenn Slater. Expect radiant songs, vivid characters, and themes of love, courage, family, and self-discovery. Designed for all ages, this immersive, enchanting production invites audiences into an under-the-sea world they will remember. The new Elgin Art Showcase in downtown Elgin hosts the show, offering an intimate setting that heightens the experience. Street and garage parking are available nearby, so plan to arrive early to allow time for parking, check-in, and seating. Although the theater is on a lower level, an accessible entrance at street level is provided. Guests who need accommodations or assistance are encouraged to contact venue staff in advance. Comfortable attire and footwear are recommended due to the immersive environment. The performance may include theatrical haze, bubbles, flashing and moving lights, brief strobe-like effects, loud sound effects, and interactive audience elements. While family-friendly, it also features staged combat and moments that could feel intense for very young children, including scenes with Ursula, a sea monster, and other fantastical sea creatures.
