The Greatest Ferret Show On Earth, also known as GFSOE, marks its 36th year as the nation’s longest-running ferret show. Enthusiasts from near and far present their ferrets in judged classes that focus on color, pattern, and structure. This gathering is the largest annual fundraiser for the Greater Chicago Ferret Association. Proceeds support homeless ferrets cared for by the GCFA Shelter, founded in 1987. Over the years the organization has rescued more than 10,000 ferrets, and each year approximately 250 to 350 arrive through rescue or relinquishment. Ferrets of all kinds are welcome. To enter the show hall, proof of a distemper vaccination or a titer within the year prior to the show is required. A rabies vaccination is recommended but not mandatory, and ADV testing is not required. This event is not sanctioned by the American Ferret Association, so placements will not count toward AFA points or Ferret of the Year.

A campus-wide trick-or-treat route invites families to collect candy at historic homes across a 13-acre setting. After the sweets, enjoy live music from The Little Mermen & Princess Pals, the number one Disney tribute band, performing favorites from 100 years of Disney. Young attendees can bounce and play in themed inflatables near the stage, including a gentle no-scare haunted house with friendly ghouls, smiling ghosts, and playful decorations. The interactive Ghoul School lets kids craft their own slime. All activities and performances are included with admission. Created for families with children ages 3 to 12, this celebration is designed to be not-so-scary.
