The Greatest Ferret Show On Earth, also known as GFSOE, marks its 36th year as the nation’s longest-running ferret show. This gathering is the largest annual fundraiser for the Greater Chicago Ferret Association. Proceeds support homeless ferrets cared for by the GCFA Shelter, founded in 1987. Over the years the organization has rescued more than 10,000 ferrets, and each year approximately 250 to 350 arrive through rescue or relinquishment. Ferrets of all kinds are welcome. To enter the show hall, proof of a distemper vaccination or a titer within the year prior to the show is required. A rabies vaccination is recommended but not mandatory, and ADV testing is not required. This event is not sanctioned by the American Ferret Association, so placements will not count toward AFA points or Ferret of the Year.
