Lippold ParkDay 1 Summer League Season 2 - 4th Grade
The Summer League returns for season 2, giving ninjas a chance to put obstacle course training to the test. Over the summer, competitors take part in four separate competitions and earn placement points within their grade. By the end of the final competition, the top three point earners in each grade receive a trophy. Registration should match the grade a participant will enter after summer. A season pass is $210. League membership benefits include access to all four competitions, full access to Open Play, and a $20 discount on three months of Ninja class. Spots are limited in each grade, and online registration is available.

Now in its sixth year, this community gathering offers options to ride, walk, or try the newly added run, or simply relax while supporting eight community organizations. Michael Bettine can share background on the instruments, place them in historical and cultural context, and demonstrate the sounds and techniques he uses in meditation sessions or concert settings. Bettine is a Milwaukee based percussionist with more than 40 years of experience across many musical settings. He began working with gongs in 1975 and has spent decades exploring how sound interacts with mind and body. For the past 18 years he has focused primarily on gongs, singing bowls, bells, and related metal instruments under the name Gongtopia, presenting gong meditation sessions and solo percussion concerts. He has released over 40 recordings, and his long running blogs The Way of the Gong, Art As A Spiritual Practice, and Percussion Deconstruction have been embraced within meditation and sound therapy communities as well as among percussionists.

Practice agility skills at a friendly run thru hosted by Car-Dun-Al Obedience Dog Training Club. Two nested courses, Masters and Novice, feature 12 weaves. Tall heights 24 to 20 run first, followed by small heights 16 to 4, and a two run limit applies in each height group. Handlers may complete a full course or use their turn to focus on specific exercises. Small dog runs begin after all tall runs are finished. Non-member fees are $5 for the first entry and $4 for a second entry with the same dog. Member rates are $4 for the first entry and $3 for a second entry with the same dog. Crating is available indoors in designated areas. Face coverings are optional in the building, and participants are asked to maintain social distancing inside and outside.

Groups can be paired by listing friends’ names in the space provided on the form, and each person should still submit their own form. There is a spot to note travel time and preferred time of day, and while accommodations are not guaranteed, requests are considered. Artists are assigned at random. Capacity is limited, so not every sign up may be scheduled, but everyone will be notified. Flash parameters are set to keep things moving. Black and grey pieces are $100 and color designs are $125. Get set for the Crystal Lake Main Beach fireworks celebration with advance wristband sales available through the Crystal Lake Park District Administrative Office, and please note that pre-purchased wristbands are nonrefundable. During the day, standard beach admission applies, and daytime guests receive a wristband that allows same-day reentry and includes access to the fireworks. Later in the day, a fireworks-only wristband is $5 per person, and children younger than three are free. The City of Crystal Lake partners with the Crystal Lake Park District to present the fireworks at Main Beach, with festivities that also include the Crystal Lake Independence Day Parade from the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce and a concert at the Main Beach Band Shell featuring Voices in Harmony and the Crystal Lake Community Band. For everyone’s safety and comfort, gas grills, glass near the beach, hard alcohol, smoking or vaping, bikes or skateboards, dogs, and firearms are not permitted. The second day centers on obstacle work, with practice on individual obstacles followed by short practice courses in the afternoon. The final day brings everything together in a relaxed schooling show that lets riders apply their new skills, with coaching available as much or as little as needed. Karen and Mike also lead an Ease of Handling course walk and share strategy and guidance. The schooling show is limited to 10 riders. Billed as the largest iris swap in Illinois, this free community gathering is hosted by McHenry County Plantings Group at the McHenry County Farm Bureau. Explore painting in a beginner-friendly session guided step by step by professional artist Julie Kukreja. Working Equitation - Obstacle Practice Aug. 1st
Practice Working Equitation obstacles in a three hour group session. The fee is $50, or $30 for Team KarMik members. Referral Partners 365 presents the fourth annual charitable golf outing at Crystal Lake Country Club, raising funds for Options & Advocacy for McHenry County. Indian Uprising All Pontiac Weekend 2026
Hosted by the Cruisin’ Tigers GTO and All Pontiac Club, this 35th annual all-Pontiac celebration takes place at the Holiday Inn Chicago Northwest Convention Center in Crystal Lake. The Fiero is highlighted as a featured model for this edition. The weekend opens with an informal parking lot gathering for Pontiacs while vendors are open, followed by a large cruise night that welcomes all makes and models with food, drinks, and live music. The festivities culminate in an all-Pontiac show showcasing hundreds of vehicles, along with awards and guest presentations throughout the weekend. Store tools are on hand to use, including a Cricut with cartridges, a Big Shot with embossing folders and dies, templates, punches, a cutting system, and more. A convenient break room offers a refrigerator with ice, a microwave, a coffee maker, a toaster, and a soda vending machine, plus extra tables so meals can be enjoyed away from the crafting area. Bringing a snack to share on the community counter is welcome but completely optional. Pricing is flexible, with the full weekend at $80, two day options at $70 or $60 depending on the combination, and single day passes at $35, $40, or $30 depending on the day. Each household may drop off a single television, flat screen, or computer monitor per event, and proof of Algonquin Township residency is required.
