Players Sport & Social Group presents the thirteenth stop of the Players Grass Series in Chicago with the Hoodie Tourney. Competition includes men’s 3’s and women’s 3’s at AA, A, BB, and B levels, coed 4’s in BB, B, and Rec with no more than two men on the court, plus a new open gender 4’s Rec division. The format begins with pool play and the leading teams move on to the playoffs. Pool matches consist of two sets to 21. Tournament staff will be on site to assist. KVTA’s Tinseltown Christmas is a festive holiday fundraiser that invites attendees to enjoy seasonal entertainment while taking part in a creative table-decorating experience. Guests may host a table and bring their group to share in the celebration. A table for six is $90 and a table for eight is $120, with the host counted among the seats. Individual tickets are $15, and a KVTA table is available for those attending solo. Advance payment is requested to reserve a table. Because seating is limited, refunds are not available after a set deadline. All seats at hosted tables are expected to be used so everyone who wants to attend can be accommodated. Hosts may cover the cost for their guests or request reimbursement, and assistance is available to place single ticket holders at your table if extra seats remain. Once a table is reserved, hosts decorate it with a Broadway show theme or a Christmas theme, including tableware, and provide a dessert for their guests. Nonalcoholic beverages are provided by KVTA. Four festive feats of strength take the spotlight at Majestic Weddings & Events, featuring Reindeer Gainz Viking Press, Sleigh Squat, Santa’s Sack Chimney Chuck, and Ho Ho Hold On. The competition even uses a real sleigh, and photos and videos from past Christmas contests can be found on social media, where updates will also be posted. This contest is sanctioned by United States Strongman and serves as a qualifier for 2027 Nationals. A 2026 USS membership is required to compete, and athlete registration with full details is available on Iron Podium. Spectator admission is $15 for ages 13 and up, with a limited number of $25 VIP spots on the second and third level balconies. Tables and chairs will be set up for a good view and room for food and drinks, and the balcony levels also include tables, chairs, and a small area with couches. Spectator tickets will be available online at Eventbrite. A live stream with commentary by Laarni Mulvey of Athlete Ready Sideline Sports will be free to watch on YouTube via the One Way Strength Channel. The Majestic bar will be open with a variety of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages, and food details will be announced closer to the event. Large free public parking lots are located behind and beside the building with plenty of spaces. Festive attire is encouraged with a playful nod to the idea that a Christmas look adds a little extra power to every lift.
