Additional items include South Dakota honey at $15 per container and Georgia Elliot pecans at $15 for a 12 ounce package. Payment is accepted by cash or card at the truck, with no checks and no prepayment.

Steel City FC Women/Men Doubleheader

Enjoy a two-match night at Slammers Stadium as Steel City FC takes the field twice. The women meet River Light FC, then the men face AAC Eagles, with both games carrying major implications in the title races. STOS Camp 2026 - Fiddler on the Roof

This summer’s camp centers on a production of Fiddler on the Roof. Hosted at the St. John the Baptist Resource Center in Joliet, it offers guidance from experienced teachers in acting, singing, and choreography. Participants can also choose a behind-the-scenes path in costumes, set design, or prop design. Two groups are available. The teen group includes incoming 6th graders through incoming high school seniors with a fee of $400, and the junior group is for ages 5 through incoming 5th graders with a fee of $300.

Week 4 of Sounds on 66 brings The Selectones to Joliet City Square for a high-energy set steeped in reggae grooves, ska pulses, bright horn lines, and feel-good summer energy. Hailing from the Joliet and Chicagoland area, the band fuses reggae, ska, funk, roots, and psychedelic touches into a dance-ready show driven by a full rhythm section and horns. They have appeared at festivals and venues around the Midwest and have shared the stage with major touring artists. Get Outdoors Challenge

This program offers trained Program Aides and Counselors-in-Training the chance to use their skills while assisting with an outdoor program. This is a single-day event, so overnight stays are not included. A snack will be provided. This program is for individuals who have already completed their PA or CIT training and do not require an adult chaperone. It is a drop-off event. Youth participants will receive a patch upon registration. Activities include learning how to protect bees, identifying birds and animal tracks, summer-themed arts and crafts, making lemonade and smores, water games, yoga, and learning about compasses and the Leave No Trace principles.

Explore Pilcher Park Nature Center on a guided walk with a naturalist and learn about the area’s old-growth trees and seasonal wildflowers, including the sweeping displays of Virginia bluebells. The route is described as easy to moderate, and there is no cost to attend. Space is limited to 20 participants so everyone can hear the guide, and advance registration is required by emailing Debra at willcounty@wildoneschapters.org. Plan to arrive a little early and meet in the parking lot before the tour begins. Dress for the weather and bring rain gear or boots if needed. If conditions are safe, the group will head outdoors, otherwise activities will move inside the nature center. Wear older, closed-toe shoes and clothing that can get dirty, and consider long pants. Tick activity is high this season, so use repellent and wear a hat or bandana.

Hawgs For Dogs is a charity motorcycle ride benefiting Hopeful Tails, with Henchmen Nation selecting the rescue as the event’s beneficiary. The ride begins at Jack’s Place, includes a second stop to be announced, and wraps up at Ryan’s with an after party. Registration is available for riders at $20 and for passengers at $10. The after party offers live music, raffle baskets, silent auctions, and a pig roast for paid participants, along with a chance to meet Hopeful Tails puppies. This immersive tarot course treats the cards as a dynamic language of symbols rather than a list of keywords to memorize. Designed for new readers and those building their skills, it explores archetypes, card structure, and real-world application through guided teaching, discussion, hands-on practice, and intuitive development in a welcoming small-group setting. Participants work through the Major and Minor Arcana and learn how the cards connect into a meaningful narrative, building confidence to read for themselves and for others. Class size is intentionally limited for personal guidance, with onsite morning and evening sections capped at four participants each. The program spans eight weeks and includes a course workbook, foundational principles, symbolism and interpretation skills, and plenty of practice readings and exercises. Students may bring a personal tarot deck or purchase a learning deck at the shop. The course fee is 200.00 and full payment is required before attending. Explore Route 66 history at Joliet Iron Works Historic Site on a self-guided walk among the stone foundations of a steel works that once led the way when the highway was newly paved. In celebration of Route 66’s centennial, Forest Preserve staff will share stories about the people who lived, worked and traveled this historic corridor. Watch a blacksmith at work as metal is shaped into practical tools, and visit the preserve shelter to view historic photographs and picture the site in its prime. This free program welcomes all ages, and you can move through the site at whatever pace you prefer. The route spans about one mile on paved, accessible walkways. Parking is limited, so consider walking, biking or carpooling. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate should submit a request at least 48 hours before the program.

Downtown Joliet turns green for a midsummer salute to Irish culture with a special Sounds on 66 gathering at Joliet City Square, followed by an afterparty at Chicago Street Pub. The celebration features Irish music, traditional dance, pipes and drums, food, drinks, and lively downtown energy. At City Square, the lineup includes the Joliet Police Department Pipes & Drums, dancers from the Sullivan School of Dance, and The Irish All Stars with John Condron, Gavin Coyle, Max Dunne, Aly Flood, and special guests. The program blends time honored tunes, pub singalongs, and contemporary Celtic flair. Admission to the outdoor concert is free and the City Square portion is family friendly. Joliet’s Social District allows guests to enjoy beverages from participating bars and restaurants in official social district cups while listening throughout the square. After the music in the square, the celebration continues at Chicago Street Pub as part of its Friday Music Series with Evin O’Riordan keeping the Irish soundtrack going. Pub specials include Corned Beef Tacos, Shepherd’s Pie Egg Rolls, and an Irish Breakfast Sandwich, along with a $4 Chicago Street Irish Amber draft, $5 Paddy’s Irish Whiskey shots and drinks, and a $6 Irish Mule.
