Dancers spend a week learning new moves and building their own mini production at School of Ballet 5:8. Each day brings dance instruction, creative crafts, fun games, and time with friends, all leading to a friendly end-of-week showcase for parents. Choose a half day or full day schedule, with tuition set at $250 for half day and $400 for full day. It is a convenient option for parents who could use some errand time while their dancer enjoys a summer week of creativity and movement.

A one-week kids art camp is offered with flexible ways to participate. Campers can enroll for a full week in full day, morning, or afternoon formats, or choose a single-day option. Early and late pickup are available. Participants receive guided, step-by-step instruction to paint a large 16x20 canvas featuring an image they select. The experience also includes games and extra crafts. No experience is needed. Candle making and slime making are offered each day as optional add-ons at a reduced rate.

The free Movies in the Park series concludes with a screening of Miracle, presented as part of an America250 salute to films that celebrate national pride. A patriotic pre-show offers children’s activities with participating organizations and sponsors, along with themed giveaways. The first 100 children will receive a red, white, and blue bracelet. Pop-in hours on Tuesdays at Bottle & Bottega La Grange feature a kid-friendly special. Purchase a $40, 16x20 canvas and receive one 11x14 canvas free. Children under 14 are eligible to paint at no cost as part of this offer.

Sixteen Candles brings its 1980s-fueled show to SJC FAMILY FEST, a free community celebration with a variety of food and a carnival for kids. The band has performed at this event for several years, and if it rains, a large tent keeps the 80s dance party going. Since 2003, Sixteen Candles has toured internationally to bring the music of the 1980s to life. The group performs entirely live with no pre-recorded tracks, allowing the onstage chemistry to shine. Expect a wave of nostalgia, high energy, and memorable moments throughout a concert built for fun.

Hollywood Feed is partnering with Westchester Food Pantry and its Wet Nose Pantry for an in-store pet food donation drive. The effort supports pets impacted by rising poverty. Pet food contributions are requested, with brands such as Fromm Classic, Victor, and Diamond suggested. If attending in person is not possible, a Curbside Order marked c/o Wet Nose can be placed ahead of the drive and it will be routed to the food pantry volunteers.

Fearless, an unofficial Taylor Swift tribute, appears at St. John of the Cross Parish for the Family Fest. The group of Chicago musicians delivers a spirited celebration of her chart-topping songs and signature style. Admission is free and the performance welcomes all ages.
