Part of Rock The Block, the Block 59 Summer Concert Series, this free community show features 7th Heaven performing live on the grassy lawn at Block 59. Alcohol is not permitted on the lawn. 7th Heaven has been entertaining audiences for about four decades and typically plays around 200 shows each year, including many outdoor concerts.

The 9th Annual Moose-a-Palooza Music Fest and Fundraiser brings a full day of live music to the Fox Valley with eight bands performing across two stages in support of a meaningful cause. Attendees can bring lawn chairs, enjoy food and cold drinks, and spend the day listening to classic rock, blues, country, and familiar favorites. Please note that outside alcohol is not permitted on the grounds. The Masus Financial Main Stage hosts performances by GNP, Saint Astro, Head Honchos, and the Big Al Wetzel Band. The 212 Degrees Construction Stage features the Corey Marshall Band, Sour Crow, The Sociables, and Pawnshop. All net proceeds help the Batavia Moose Lodge benefit the children of Mooseheart Child City and School, providing safe housing, education, and brighter opportunities. Tickets are available with a limited-time early bird price of $15 and regular admission at $20. Terrapin Flyer takes the stage outside at The Venue for an open-air concert that will proceed in any weather and will not be moved indoors. Seating is general admission with open outdoor areas, and guests are welcome to bring blankets or folding bagged chairs. Rental chairs are available for $5, and a dance area near the stage is open to anyone who prefers to stand. Weather preparation such as rain gear and umbrellas is encouraged. Guests may bring their own food and water, but coolers and outside alcohol are not permitted. Nearby restaurants and food trucks offer additional options, and a full bar with cocktails and nonalcoholic drinks will be available on site. Advance general admission is $25, with an additional $5 charged at the door. For more than two decades Terrapin Flyer has toured nationally alongside notable figures from the Grateful Dead community, appearing at venues and festivals across the country. The project began in 1999 in Chicago as a Grateful Dead jam night and soon grew into a touring band with collaborations that included Vince Welnick, Melvin Seals, and Tom Constanten, plus combinations featuring Mark Karan. Longstanding partnerships followed, including many years with Seals, and the group was noted in Rolling Stone’s Guide to the Grateful Dead for its work with Constanten. Known for interpretations of rare and classic Dead songs, the current lineup features Josh Olken on lead guitar, Wavy Dave on bass, Jon Reed on drums, Michael Cole on keyboards, and Doug Hagman on rhythm guitar.

Step up to the microphone for music, comedy, or poetry at an afternoon open mic hosted by Aaron Kelly. Performers can sing, play an instrument, share jokes, or read poems... the spotlight is on the participants. Kelly grew up on the outskirts of the Chicago metro area and counts influences such as John Prine and Townes Van Zandt, blending them with a keen sense of empathy. His songwriting is crafted to endure, and his work has been highlighted by American Songwriter Magazine. After years of cross-country touring with Overman, he released his debut solo album, Barefoot and Bottomed Out, in 2016. The Aaron Kelly Band was set to release an LP titled Songs Still Sing and an EP titled Letting the Animals Out in 2022. He hosts this open mic on the last Sunday afternoon of each month.

A 20th anniversary concert marks a milestone for August. Admission is a $20 cover, cash only, and all ages are welcome. The band first came together as an eight-piece horn-driven group with four rhythm players and four horns, performing steadily before an internal split sent members in different directions. Years later, August reunited with an expanded horn section and relaunched with a pavilion show at the Aurora Roundhouse, then known as Walter Payton’s Roundhouse and now Two Brothers Roundhouse. That return performance was shortened by a thunderstorm, yet it kicked off a renewed stretch of shows throughout the Chicagoland area. August went on to appear three times on WGN-TV’s midday news and entertainment segment, including a spot where newscaster Steve Sanders joined on guitar. The band’s first album, “Second Time Around,” was recorded at Jim Peterik’s World Stage Studios, with Peterik contributing a guest appearance and Larry Millas handling the mix for their recordings. A subsequent single, “Chicago, Calling Me Home,” written by Paul David Wilson, added to their catalog. This celebration reflects the group’s horn-forward sound and a history shaped by reunion, live performances, and studio work rooted in the greater Chicago music scene.

David's Bazaar brings an acoustic grab bag to Potter's Place, serving up reinterpretations that span genres and decades. Expect covers from Springsteen, Slipknot, Stapleton, Floyd, Fuel, and the Furs, plus Mraz, Metallica, Malone, Cash, Costello, and Croce. The set also reaches across Prine, Prince, and Petty, with plenty from Foo, Goo, and Who, and requests are welcome. This performance is weather dependent... it is planned for clear conditions only, and the venue may cancel if the forecast looks questionable.
