Those who prefer a lower-key experience can choose a hiking-only option on scenic trails near the climbing area, with encouragement to bring a yoga mat or a good book for relaxing breaks. Experienced outdoor climbers can focus on advanced skills or climb independently with their own approved gear through a dedicated registration track. For climbing and hiking, pack snacks, a refillable water bottle, comfortable clothing that allows free movement and can handle rough rock, closed-toe hiking or trail shoes or boots, a hammock if you have one, a backpack, any needed personal medications, sunscreen and sunglasses, and a camera or phone. Instructional sessions include use of a harness, helmet, climbing shoes, a chalk bag, and a belay device with a locking carabiner, and personal gear may be used if approved by the instructor. For the full retreat, bring bedding and towels, a flashlight or headlamp, a yoga mat, ear plugs, layers for changing weather, a small blanket for bonfire time, and a heated blanket or small space heater if staying in a yurt. Lodging is in yurts and cabins, with the option to group with friends. Heated cabins and private yurts are available for an additional charge. After the two days of climbing, participants can depart or extend their stay to bundle with the Women’s Adventure Retreat, which adds dinner, icebreaker activities, and indie folk and Americana by Jeremy Todd around the bonfire. Non-electronic debris such as tires, wood, asbestos, office waste, furniture, fiberglass, insulation, roofing, or dirt is also not accepted, and media like DVDs, CDs, cassette tapes, and VHS tapes are excluded.
