When she learns her family’s stables are being sold and the horses may be sent to slaughter, the group unravels in a swirl of middle school scheming and secrets. The story spotlights pre-teen obsessions, insecurities, and the urgent search for belonging. This production at the NoCo Arts Center is directed by Tory Parker and features Adama Abramson, Jordan Aikin, Amy Davis, Ali Gautier, Clarity Hagan, Laura Krauser, and Bailey Preston. The Louisville Pure Tap 5K, presented by Louisville Water Company, starts and finishes at Louisville Water Tower, the site known for Louisville’s award-winning drinking water. This family-friendly run follows a scenic route that heads east and west along River Road. It is professionally chip timed, and every participant receives a short-sleeved Louisville Pure Tap 5K race shirt and a custom finisher medal. Dogs are welcome again this year with a $10 registration add-on that benefits Friends of Louisville Metro Animal Services, and registered dogs receive a bandana to recognize their participation. The road is closed to vehicles so people working downtown, visitors, and convention attendees can enjoy expanded midday choices in an open setting. Picnic tables are placed on Plaza on Fourth to provide extra seating across from the trucks. Menus range from gourmet dishes to familiar favorites like burgers and tacos, and on select dates there are coffee and frozen desserts. The series is presented by JPMorganChase with support from River City Bank.

This no-drop group ride departs from Seidenfaden’s with Paulette Meggoe and friends. A ride leader or dedicated club member looks after participants who are new to the group or prefer a slower pace, so no one is left behind. Riders may choose any speed that suits them, provided it is done safely with care for personal and group safety. The ride uses a mass start and takes place throughout the year, even in darkness and freezing conditions. Lights are required. It is strongly suggested to bring a repair kit, hydration, a helmet, and clothing appropriate for the temperature. Participants are encouraged to look out for one another, point out hazards like glass to those behind, and call out “mechanical” if a flat or other issue occurs so help can be provided. An official route is available, and a post-ride meetup happens back at Seidenfaden’s.

By popular demand, the start returns to Seidenfaden’s and the ride finishes there as well. This is a fast, spirited outing where the group often splits into smaller packs to suit different abilities and goals. Expect paceline work, hard efforts along Main Street and through Old Louisville, a push on Southern Parkway, an Iroquois hill climb, and sprint efforts before rolling back to the finish. New riders are encouraged to choose the earlier, more relaxed version that also begins and ends at Seidenfaden’s. Bikes are parked indoors afterward and the venue turns into a bike-focused hangout with a wide range of craft beers.
