iPhone Video Made Simple
Learn practical techniques to turn everyday iPhone footage into purposeful narratives. This workshop explores framing, cinematic camera movement, lighting, audio, editing, and story structure with a focus on creating videos entirely on a phone. It is a good fit for beginners, hobbyists, entrepreneurs, and content makers who want stronger, more deliberate results without pricey equipment. Expect guidance on useful iPhone settings, smart shooting strategies, and editing fundamentals. Please bring an iPhone. Food Scrap Drop-Off: Valparaiso Farmers Market 2026
Residents can bring household food scraps to the Valparaiso Farmers Market for composting at Urschel Pavilion in downtown Valparaiso. Acceptable items include fruit and vegetable peels, coffee grounds, and eggshells. Volunteers will be available to confirm what can be composted and to share guidance on best practices. This ongoing effort supports a cleaner community and reduces waste through collective action. For questions, call 219-465-3694.
William E. Urschel PavilionCritter Camp @ Dunes Learning Center
Kids ages 6 to 8 can join a day camp at Dunes Learning Center, where young naturalists explore the forests, streams, and trails on campus. The schedule includes fun outdoor experiences like crafts and beach days, with time to play and learn together in the Indiana Dunes area. Camp runs Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

This returning in-person picnic from Valparaiso Firefighters Local 1124 features free hamburgers and hot dogs hot off the grill, opportunities to meet the firefighters, a chance to see fire and EMS vehicles and equipment up close, and time to enjoy ValPlayso Park. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the event.
