On Sundays, the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum offers free admission for the public. Made possible since 2022 by support from the Ruth Spooner Stone Charitable Trust through INTRUST Bank, this program opens the doors to downtown Wichita’s original 1890 City Hall, where the museum presents dozens of exhibits and thousands of artifacts about the area’s past. The Museum Store carries books, local souvenirs, and gift items. Regular admission on other days is $5 for adults and $2 for children, and members are always admitted at no charge. The museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.

Enjoy a complimentary salsa lesson at Chicken N Pickle led by Baila Wichita. Participants also receive 25 percent off food and soda.

Players gather for Marvel Crisis Protocol at the store. This Marvel tabletop tactical game pits heroes and villains against each other as they battle for strategic objectives and reshape the battlefield. Newcomers are welcome, with instruction available for anyone learning the game. Participation is free.

Opening Day at Kansas Grown Farmers Market celebrates 36 years in 2026 with a lively showcase of local abundance. Meet friendly growers, producers, and artisans offering farm fresh produce, meats, eggs, honey, baked treats, jellies, barbecue sauces, salsas, fresh cut flowers, and one of a kind artisan crafts. Enjoy live music and a selection of food trucks, with local favorite Troubles the Clown among the attractions. Recognized as the largest grower owned farmers market in Kansas, it offers a warm way to experience homegrown flavors and connect with the people who create them.

For more than three decades, Old Town Farm & Art Market has been one of Wichita’s signature traditions, bringing together growers, artisans, artists, musicians, and the community. Each visit offers a lively mix of fresh farm produce and meats, artisan foods, local art and handmade goods, ready-to-eat options and refreshing drinks, along with live music and street performers. With around 100 vendors on a typical week, there is always something new to discover as you meet the people behind the products. Admission is free, and dogs are welcome. Later in the year, the market transforms into a holiday-focused experience with festive vendors, seasonal foods, and unique handmade gifts, with a separate announcement to share full details closer to that time.

At Oakdale Park, the BBBSS Legacy car show offers free or at-will registration. Awards will recognize the largest fundraising group and the top individual, along with overall honors. Vehicles will be lined up as they arrive. Groups can meet at Dillions on Sunset before heading to the park. Plan to bring chairs, a cooler, microfiber towels to shine up your vehicle, and possibly a canopy.
