Lost River Cave hosts a volunteer invasive plant pull focused on restoring the meadow habitat. Volunteers help remove invasive species so native plants can thrive, which supports local wildlife and overall ecosystem health. Perks include a complimentary boat tour pass for every volunteer and a free Earth Week T-shirt for the first 100 people who register. Opportunities are available on multiple days during Earth Week, and participants may stay as long as they are able, whether attending with friends or colleagues or taking part solo.

NCM High Performance Driving Education

The NCM High Performance Driver Education offers sports car owners a welcoming place to learn how to drive to their potential alongside fellow enthusiasts and approachable coaches, with support from partners such as Michelin, Mobil 1, and Holley Performance. Built on a curriculum refined over many years, the program emphasizes generous track time and focused skill building in a fun learning environment. Newer drivers receive high quality instruction on essential high performance techniques, while experienced participants can sharpen their craft to make the most of the biggest variable in any car, the driver. To increase time on track, the event uses three run groups: Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. Novice is the only instructed group, and anyone wanting an assigned instructor must register for Novice, which is capped based on instructor availability. Pricing is $550 for Novice and $500 for Intermediate and Advanced for the full two day option, or $300 for a single day in any group. This is a bring your own vehicle experience, and almost any modern street car with OEM equipment in good condition can be used. A pre event inspection by a qualified mechanic is recommended. Required gear includes a Snell SA2015 or SA2020 helmet, long pants, and closed toe shoes. SA2010 helmets are not accepted. Participants should arrive with completed tech inspection and helmet forms. All cars must have a muffler and meet a maximum sound reading of 103 at 50 feet, and violations may result in vehicle exclusion. All registered participants and their guests must follow the facility’s policies and procedures.

ACO Regional-Bowling Green, KY

An ACO Season 21 regional event is set for Bowling Green at The Foundry. Competition includes World Singles, Doubles, Women, Seniors, Juniors, Coed, and Blind Draw divisions. Entry fees will be announced and payout details are still to be determined. Membership options are available for all players. The Starter Membership is free, uses full retail pricing on tournament tickets, and provides eligibility for all ACO divisions at Regionals and Majors along with standings points, prize money, and trophies. The Player Membership is $30, offers discounted tournament ticket pricing, and includes the same eligibility and standings benefits. The Worlds Membership is $60, provides the best available ticket pricing and full eligibility, and also includes prize jerseys, weekly prize opportunities such as bag giveaways, and a 500 point bonus at signup for Singles divisions. Only ACO stamped bags from Season 21 Bag Partners may be used in any division. Older stamped models are permitted if the manufacturer remains a Season 21 Bag Partner. Volunteer Training - Barren River

Hosparus Health Barren River offers free Patient and Family Support Volunteer training at its Bowling Green office. The sessions welcome anyone who wants to bring companionship, a steady presence, and practical help to patients and families across a ten county service area that includes Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Monroe, Metcalfe, Simpson, and Warren. Volunteers may provide friendly visits and emotional support, give caregivers a short break, and assist patients wherever they live. Veterans also have opportunities to honor fellow veterans in care. A commitment of at least two hours each month is requested. Registration is required for every session, and documentation of COVID-19 vaccination must be provided before beginning service.

18th Annual BGWCHS Fur Ball

The 18th annual BGWCHS Fur Ball returns to The Sloan Convention Center for an elegant evening that celebrates shelter pets and supports the Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society. For nearly two decades, this gala has been the organization’s primary fundraiser, bringing the community together to advance life saving work in Bowling Green and Warren County. Every dollar raised benefits local animals, with BGWCHS caring for nearly 12,000 intakes each year, and event proceeds helping give each one a stronger chance to thrive. American Aquarium

American Aquarium brings its country rock power to The Grove, delivering songs that feel anthemic in the moment and reveal deeper meaning on reflection. For nearly two decades, the band from North Carolina has pursued rock and roll that is both cathartic and meaningful. The Fear of Standing Still showcases that approach, pairing a gritty sound with BJ Barham’s most incisive writing and capturing the big, high energy feel of their live show. On stage, Barham is joined by Shane Boeker on guitar, Neil Jones on pedal steel, Rhett Huffman on keyboards, Ryan Van Fleet on drums, and Alden Hedges on bass. All ages are welcome, and children 12 and under are free.

Chin Track Days

Chin Track Days visits NCM Motorsports Park, a modern road course that debuted in late 2014. The 3.2 mile layout features 23 numbered turns, creating a long and demanding lap with rolling elevation changes, quick sweepers, linked complexes, tight hairpins, and fast straights. Staff from Chin Track Days were among the first to lap the circuit when it opened and were asked to help assess the track’s safety systems. Amenities include rental garages, a large paved paddock, and robust safety provisions. Convenient access beside I-65 in Bowling Green, Kentucky, along with plentiful lodging and dining nearby, makes travel straightforward, and the venue sits within about six hours of Atlanta and Indianapolis. Book Signing & Meet the Curator: Fierce & Fearless Phoenix: Rises From The Ashes

Celebrate resilience and renewal at a book signing and meet-the-curator gathering for the anthology Fierce & Fearless Phoenix: Rises From The Ashes. Curated by Ciara Lewis, also known as Cee Lewis, this collection shares the journeys of women who transform heartbreak and loss into faith and steady determination. The gathering honors the belief that endings can become beginnings. Alongside readings from the anthology, attendees can take part in a guided sip and paint experience. Entry is $20 and includes all painting supplies. There will be opportunities to meet the curator and contributors, get books signed, connect with a supportive community that chooses strength over silence, and create a personal artwork that reflects a spirit of rising anew.

Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel, A Concert

Orchestra Kentucky and Ramsey Theatre Company collaborate on a concert version of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel, showcasing the score with songs such as If I Loved You, June Is Bustin’ Out All Over, and You’ll Never Walk Alone. The program highlights two of SKYPAC’s resident companies and brings together artists from national stages and the local community to share the musical’s story through orchestra and voice. Guest conductor Joseph Trafton, a Bowling Green native who has spent the past 20 years conducting in Germany, leads the performance in a homecoming appearance. Broadway performers Jeremy Stolle and Elizabeth Welch portray Billy and Julie. Both have appeared in The Phantom of the Opera, and Stolle is the founder of his own production company and is currently on Broadway in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Masquerade. Andy Stahl, a Bowling Green native with a substantial film and television career, appears as the Starkeeper. He has returned to live in Bowling Green full time and is an alumnus of Western Kentucky University. Additional casting includes Grace Trenouth as Carrie, an RTC intern and recent Orchestra Kentucky Bowling Green soloist who is attending Bard Conservatory, and Elijah Millburn as Enoch Snow, an RTC performer and recent Western Kentucky University graduate. The role of Nettie is performed by Dr. Tiffany Bostic Brown, head of Musical Theatre and Voice at WKU. Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization.

Red Dot Handgun Performance & Developmet

In Glasgow, Kentucky, a collaborative training course from American Patriot Defense and Citizen Defense Firearms Training focuses on elevating red dot handgun performance and development. It is intended for shooters who already possess solid handgun fundamentals and want to sharpen efficiency, consistency, and accountability when using a pistol-mounted optic. Rather than a simple introduction to the dot, the curriculum centers on building repeatable results under realistic constraints. Participants move through structured drills and diagnostics that improve rapid sight acquisition and tracking, reinforce target-focused vision, and refine grip and recoil control so the optic behaves predictably. The program also builds skill in calling shots and confirming results, and it outlines training methods that carry over to practical use as well as competition. Instruction is principle driven, providing tools to self-assess, measure progress, and continue improving long after the course ends. The class supports goals ranging from stronger defensive capability to competitive gains to higher-level mastery of red dot pistol work. Required gear includes a handgun equipped with a red dot sight, at least 550 rounds, a safe and functional holster or equipment belt, and three or more magazines. Bring ear and eye protection, sun protection, clothing suited to the conditions, and personal snacks and water. Nylon holsters and generic one-size-fits-all models are not permitted, with MSP or Tanto noted as exceptions.

With step-by-step instruction, participants create a coordinated cookie set using a variety of decorating techniques. Open to all experience levels, and all supplies are included. The session typically runs about two to three hours, though timing can vary with the project, group size, and participant experience, and everyone finishes with a completed piece. Set during the Roaring Twenties after World War I, this production of Shakespeares comedy, Much Ado About Nothing, follows characters looking for love amidst gossip and lies. The play is a collaboration with WKU students.

Tea & Tiaras: A Mother’s Day Celebration!

Celebrate Mother’s Day at The Charleston with a charming tea experience where tiaras set a royal tone and beloved characters like the Rose Princess, Rapunzel, and the Little Mermaid make the day feel extra special. Mothers, mother figures, and their little ones can share time together with light refreshments and a warm, elegant atmosphere. Two sessions are planned, and capacity is limited to about 50 tickets per session. Tickets are available through Eventbrite, with pricing set at $40 for one adult and one child, $25 for each additional child, and $15 for each additional adult. These gatherings often fill quickly. Bring a camera to capture the fun. The team will also record photos and video for promotional use, and pink wristbands will be available at check in for anyone who prefers not to be photographed or filmed. Plan for comfort with a rest before or after, and keep in mind that only light snacks are provided. Outside food and drinks are welcome, though a full meal is best enjoyed before or after. For safety, the venue’s staircase will be roped off, but it makes a lovely backdrop for pictures. A parent or responsible adult must remain with each child throughout the event. Performers create magical moments and entertainment, while adults provide any needed assistance so every child can enjoy their time.

Now in its 35th year, the Volunteers of the Year Awards honors the individuals and teams who make a difference in the community, shining a spotlight on its unsung stars. Taking place at the WCPL Bob Kirby Branch, the ceremony features Ashlee Wilson of WNKY News 40 as emcee. All nominees will be recognized, and award recipients will be announced in the Anne Grubbs Spirit of Service, Team Spirit, Rising Star, and Young Leader categories. Supported by a seasoned staff, they started Fast Line Track Day to share what they have learned and to raise the level of the track day experience.

Driving Academy: Level 2

Level 2 instruction blends classroom learning with extensive track time. A second classroom session offers space to ask questions, receive direct feedback from instructors, and study the demands of a 3.2-mile course with 23 turns. After a catered lunch, you will take the wheel on the Grand Full layout, working through signature corners, elevation changes, and a long straight where three digit speeds are possible. Once you have settled into the circuit, a third classroom segment examines the course corner by corner to refine technique and pace. You will then apply those insights during a final on-track session aimed at reaching optimal speed and performance.

Bluegrass Supply Chain's first annual HopeFest is a family-friendly fundraiser at SOKY Center benefiting Hope House. Suggested donations are $25 per adult and $10 per child, which include entry, a meal ticket, and one ticket for every booth, with some food and activities available for additional donations. This single-session pottery class guides participants in building a mug from a clay slab using handbuilding methods. Stoneware clay is used, and once finished, the mug will be safe for both the dishwasher and the microwave. The class can run with a minimum enrollment of one student.

2nd Annual Empowering Youth Block Party

This block party spotlights youth empowerment with Healthy Kids’ Day activities alongside a craft fair and a bike show. The Lighted Guardians Riding Club Bike Show features a $25 entry fee, with registration, judging, and awards taking place during the event. Driven by a passion for the sport, this motorsports program welcomes drivers at every level, from first timers to experienced racers, with groups arranged to fit each skill set. The format uses three run groups, and each group receives five 30-minute sessions to keep the focus on track time. A professional staff supports a safe, well organized day with educational guidance, and novice participants receive instruction from Kelly Jones of Racecraft1. 3rd Annual 5k Run/Walk

The third annual 5K run and walk brings together neighbors, local law enforcement, and families from across Warren County to support the Warren County Sheriffs Foundation, a 501c3 charity. Each registration functions as a donation that helps fund training and safety equipment for deputies who serve the community. Every finisher receives a medal, and awards are presented across multiple age groups. The entry fee is $25 per person, with all proceeds benefiting the foundation.

Homeschool PE Power Hour Field Day

At HP Thomas Park, the Homeschool PE Club caps off the year with a family-friendly field day filled with teamwork and playful competition. Families check in, receive wristbands, take part in a light warm-up, and hear a short overview of the activity stations and safety guidelines. Participants then rotate through water-themed challenges that include a bucket brigade race, a slip-and-slide relay, a sponge toss and catch, a water balloon course where parents gently throw from the sidelines, and an overhead relay using a leaky cup to test how much water can be saved. A snack and hydration break offers time to recharge before the event culminates in a short color run. Kid-safe powdered color adds a festive splash, a quick safety note covers optional eye protection and keeping color away from faces, and runners can choose one or two laps before everyone counts down to a big color toss. The day winds down with a family picnic, whether packed lunches or potluck-style sharing, along with open play in a bubble zone, a chalk art area, and time on the playground or open field, followed by closing announcements and thanks. Siblings are welcome to take part in every activity, and recommended items include towels, sunscreen, water bottles, and clothes that can get wet and colorful.

No Deposit Band returns to AJ’s Place for a high energy night of classic rock made for the dance floor. The lineup for this show features Matt Murphy on drums and vocals, Adam Sanford on lead guitar and vocals, Richard Burchett on bass and vocals, and Jackie Hagan on keyboards, guitar, sound, and vocals. Sick The Magazine, Street Car Takeover, and Braggin Rights unite to launch a large-scale street car drag racing showcase at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green. Across three days, top street cars from around the country gather for a festival vibe paired with serious horsepower on track. The opening day centers on tech inspection and test sessions, along with a welcome party for racers in a family-friendly setting. The next day moves into qualifying for more than 300 cars across multiple disciplines, from drag-and-drive to roll racing, and concludes with a free concert and entertainment for racers and fans. The finale brings eliminations and the Night of Fire, featuring jet cars, nitro, pyrotechnics, and a live DJ.

Hadestown

Hadestown invites audiences into a world where a song can change fate. The production is at once dark and full of hope, creating a theatrical journey that stays with you. Her debut studio album, Twenty Seven, features eleven original songs and was produced by Grammy-nominated Duane Lundy, whose work includes collaborations with Sturgill Simpson, Ringo Starr, and Jim James. Ben Sollee, a cellist, singer, and composer, has spent nearly two decades crossing genres. His 2024 album Long Haul draws on sounds from the American and global south, with his voice and distinctive cello connecting the journey. After releasing his previous album in 2017, he stepped back from touring to grow his family and strengthen community ties in Louisville, then focused on composing for screen and audio. His credits include scores for the film LAND directed by Robin Wright, Maggie Morre(s) from John Slattery featuring Tina Fey and Jon Hamm, and the podcast series Unreformed, which received a recent Peabody Award nomination. He also helped launch Canopy, a nonprofit that supports Kentucky businesses making a positive impact on their communities and the planet.

Women's HPDI

A women-only High Performance Driving Introduction at NCM Motorsports Park welcomes drivers of all experience levels. Participants bring a car, enthusiasm for driving, and a desire to learn. Professional instructors lead small groups, arranged by comfort and skill, through a blend of classroom instruction and on-track sessions on the park’s 3.2 mile 23 turn road course in a safe, supportive setting. Classroom topics include procedures used in high performance driving, vehicle and event safety requirements, required personal protective equipment, communication with instructors on and off the track, fundamental performance techniques, and strategies for getting the most from each session. On-track and skidpad practice builds core car control, cornering skills such as turn in, apex, and track out, passing protocol and point bys, and familiarity with corner stations, brake markers, and pit in and out signs.

Downtown BGKY kicks off Duncan Hines Days with a corridor of free activities stretching from The Fringe to Fountain Square. A complimentary BG Trolley loop will connect the parking structure with several downtown stops to support accessibility. Fountain Square hosts a vintage car showcase as the Park Row and Main Avenue sides close to regular traffic and become special parking for classic cars, hot rods, and custom vehicles, and participation is free. Uncle Duncan’s Summer Stroll & Roll features a new walking and biking parade route with no motors allowed. Families, groups, and clubs are welcome, costumes are encouraged for a lighthearted contest, registration is highly encouraged, and participation is free. Around the Square there will be live music, an interactive Candy Land scavenger hunt with downtown businesses, free kids activities, and map pickup at Barbara Stewart Interiors to guide the hunt toward Meltdown Ice Cream. At The Fringe, Warren County Parks & Recreation’s Rec on the Run brings yard games for kids, along with a Bike Rodeo on the traffic garden, food trucks, and music. College Street between The Fringe and Fountain Square will be closed to vehicles, creating a pathway of food trucks, local attractions, and activities. More details will be announced.

Glasgow Pride marks its third annual celebration with a welcoming, family-friendly festival centered on connection, community, and LGBTQ+ pride. Expect a lively atmosphere with fun and food, plus plenty of opportunities to meet others in a safe space. Pack a blanket and some snacks, and bring your sunny spirit. Allies are welcome, and additional details will be shared as plans are finalized.

A Benefit Concert for Keegan Kares, A Memorial Program to LCpl Keegan Thomas Allen, U.S.M.C.

At Hillvue Heights Church, a benefit concert supports Keegan Kares, a memorial program honoring LCpl Keegan Thomas Allen, USMC. Funds raised will help build a veterans memorial garden in Bowling Green that will bear his name and will also back several planned efforts, including support for a regional ROTC competition at Warren Central High School, a USMC Boot Camp Family Attendance Scholarship, the multi phase development of the LCpl Keegan Thomas Memorial Garden, the inaugural Keegan Cares soccer tournament in Bowling Green with teams from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines competing for the Keegan Kares Trophy, an annual motorcycle awareness campaign, and a month of sponsorship for the Warren County Backpack Food Program that Keegan regularly volunteered with while growing up and when home on leave. Keegan joined the United States Marine Corps at 17, completed recruit training at Parris Island shortly before his 18th birthday, and later served on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. During an early morning ride with friends he was involved in a hit and run motorcycle crash, was taken to the hospital, and later passed away from his injuries. Some of his organs were donated to help others. He was laid to rest in a small cemetery near Oakland, Kentucky where he grew up. Keegan Kares was created by SOKY Patriots Inc, and the organization is entirely volunteer and donation based.

The 4th Annual Eats & Beats Music Fest brings a free, all-weather celebration to Circus Square Park with live music filling the afternoon and evening. As part of Duncan Hines Days and a local salute to the approaching America 250 milestone, the festival spotlights Kentucky artists whose sounds draw on Americana traditions and the storytelling connected to Duncan Hines. The lineup blends rising talent and nationally known performers with strong ties to the Commonwealth, including BG Rock Band Academy, a Bowling Green youth program that puts the next generation of Kentucky musicians onstage with high-energy sets. Fat Box, also from Bowling Green, mixes Americana, alt country, and roots rock into a distinctive regional sound. Jaid Joice brings a soulful Americana voice and candid songwriting. The Damn Shames, Bowling Green natives, fuse southern rock, blues, and country for a gritty, high energy show. Elvie Shane, the nationally recognized country and Americana artist from Caneyville, is known for the breakout hit My Boy and heartfelt writing. Local food trucks, kids games and activities, and a community art mural add to the experience. The Kids' Zone is presented by the Flora T. Stuart law office with balloon art, games, and free family-friendly activities. Working as an ensemble, campers collaborate to create and rehearse a complete show that concludes with a public showcase for family and friends.
