Explore the parts of yourself that often stay hidden in a supportive, two-part interactive workshop with Dr. Missy Duncan. Through guided reflection and practical tools, participants examine the shadow self, meaning the traits and feelings that are pushed aside or rejected, to foster healing, greater self-knowledge, and a more balanced relationship with self and others. The aim is not to erase difficult emotions, but to bring them into the light so they can be understood and integrated. The first session builds a foundation of safety and introduces a Jungian perspective on the shadow, including both challenging and “golden” aspects. You will practice methods such as tracking triggers, tuning into body signals, and using structured dialogue to meet the parts of yourself that need attention. The second session shifts from insight to embodiment, focusing on reclaiming disowned strengths in the golden shadow, engaging in reclamation rituals, and creating a plan to continue the work over time. Expect hands-on techniques like journaling, the mirror approach, active imagination, basics of Internal Family Systems, and “Desconsos” timeline mapping. Participants are asked to bring The Shadow Work Workbook by Jor-El Caraballo, a roll of butcher or freezer paper, colorful pens or fine-tip markers that are easy to read, and a journal or composition book.
