Pop In & DIY!

Enjoy a relaxed, self-paced DIY session in the studio where you choose the project that inspires you and follow clear, typed step-by-step instructions at your own speed. All supplies are provided, and most paintings can be completed in roughly a couple of hours. This is a self-directed experience, and there is an arrival cutoff in place for this session, with late arrivals not accommodated. Pricing is straightforward. Kids artwork is $25 when selecting from the designated kids gallery. Adult canvases in 16x20 or 10x30 sizes, as well as an 18x18 shiplap pallet, are $35. Wood boards are $45, porch leaners are $55, and 3D wooden projects such as bird houses, figurines, serving trays, and cutting boards range from $20 to $45. Chunky knit blankets are $65 and include four skeins of yarn along with typed, video, and hands-on instruction. Age recommendations help you pick the right fit. Canvas painting is suggested for ages 7 and up if working independently; painters ages 5 to 7 do best with a parent reading the instructions. An artist is available to answer questions but cannot provide step-by-step teaching for young children. Pottery and wood projects suit ages 3 and up, with non-fired pottery finished with a painted-on glaze that is not food safe. Candle making is recommended for ages 5 and up with adult assistance due to hot wax; candles come together quickly and then need time to cool before heading home. Chunky knit blankets are best for ages 12 and up, and an advance reservation is requested so your preferred yarn color can be ordered.

Queen of Hearts Raffle: Paws, Claws & Playing Cards

Longview PAWS hosts a Queen of Hearts raffle at McCann Street Grill to raise funds for its community outreach, including the PAWS & Effect Project that supports animals in Gregg County. This progressive game builds a jackpot that pays 60 percent to the winner while 40 percent supports Longview PAWS. Tickets cost $1 and must be purchased with cash. Each drawing selects one ticket, and the person named on it chooses from 54 sealed, numbered envelopes that hold a full deck plus two jokers. Revealing the Queen of Hearts wins the jackpot. If a face card or a joker appears, a $25 McCann Street Grill gift card is awarded. If the Queen is not found, that card is removed from play, the pot grows, and new tickets are sold for the next drawing. Tickets do not carry over, and participants must be present to win. Prizes are issued as prepaid gift cards that may include Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. The maximum prize for a single winner is $75,000, and any amount above that is donated to Longview PAWS. A W-2G tax form is required for winnings of $2,000 or more, and federal withholding may apply to noncash prizes valued over $5,000. The raffle is conducted by Longview PAWS in accordance with Texas charitable raffle laws.
