Nickel Jukebox returns to Pawtucket for a free, hour-and-a-half set filled with Motown, blues, and rock favorites delivered with their own unique spin. Presented by the Parks and Recreation Division with support from Coastal Credit Union, My Greene Team, Pamela Hughes, Bandits Baseball Club, Dupuis Oil, and The Washington Trust Company, this concert is part of the Sunday Night Riverfront Concert Series at Pawtucket's Veterans Memorial Amphitheater. Expect an upbeat evening that gets people moving. Parking is available at the City Hall lot. The Parks & Recreation Division will be collecting canned goods and other nonperishable items to benefit the Blackstone Valley Food Center. Performances may be canceled if weather threatens, with the possibility of a rescheduled date. Robert Clarke brings a high-energy, interactive blend of comedy, magic, and juggling for audiences of all ages as part of the Slater Park Children’s Performance Series. Presented by the Parks and Recreation Division with support from Coastal Credit Union, My Greene Team, Pamela Hughes, Bandits Baseball Club, Dupuis Oil, and The Washington Trust Company, this free show takes place on the stage situated between the Park Office and the Daggett House, across from the tennis courts. The Slater Park Looff Carousel next to this location will be open during the event. If weather becomes a concern, performances may move to the Slater Park Pavilion. Families with children in grades K-5 are invited to a free community art experience at Fairlawn Veterans Memorial Park, presented by The Empowerment Factory. Each session features a read-aloud, a hands-on art project, and mindfulness activities that support emotional regulation, creativity, and collaboration. Discussions and projects highlight themes of kindness, confidence, respect, and perseverance. Walk-ins are welcome, and advance registration is appreciated. Kelly & the Poor Boys, a female-fronted tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival, performs as part of Crescent Park’s Summer Concert Series. The concert is free and open to all ages. Bring lawn chairs for seating by the pavilion. The park is across the street at the Crescent Park Looff Carousel. The event will take place weather permitting.

Part of the Thursday night concert series at Daggett Farm, this free show features Edge of Dreams, a cover band rooted in classic rock, R&B, and rock that has been entertaining audiences around Rhode Island since 2016. Expect an upbeat mix spanning a wide range of artists, along with a few lighter tunes that appeal to listeners of all ages. The ninety minute performance takes place on the stage in front of Daggett Farm and Len’s Hot Dog and Seafood Haven in Slater Memorial Park. Presented by the Parks and Recreation Division with support from Coastal Credit Union, My Greene Team, Pamela Hughes, Bandits Baseball Club, Dupuis Oil, and The Washington Trust Company. During the concert, canned goods and other nonperishable food items will be collected to benefit the Blackstone Valley Food Center and its efforts to address hunger in the Blackstone Valley area. A new, lively program of music and movement for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. Children participate with their caregivers to sing, dance, and have fun while moving. Older siblings are welcome.

Experience Blackstone Valley from the water on a 90 minute guided kayak outing along the Blackstone River. The route explores Valley Falls Mill Pond and Firestone Cove, with views of historic mills and peaceful river scenery. Wildlife sightings are possible, including egrets, painted turtles, cormorants, osprey, and Sam, the lone mute swan. A minimum number of participants is required for the session to run. If the minimum is not met, participants will be notified 48 hours in advance, and if it is met, a reminder will be sent. All sessions depend on river conditions, and spots often sell out. To stay comfortable, consider bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, a bathing suit, and water.

A community back to school celebration offers a school supply giveaway for students at no cost, activities for children, and opportunities to connect with neighbors and community partners. Hosted by CACD, Unity Project, and Heart of Kindness, it focuses on helping kids feel prepared and supported for the year ahead. Quantities are limited, and students need to be there in person to receive items. Families are welcome to celebrate learners and build community.
