This outing is part of the Greenway Wild Walks offered by the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council in partnership with 15 Minute Field Trips. Walks are led by Melissa of 15 Minute Field Trips and include a hands-on activity, time for exploration, and opportunities to observe wildlife up close. The experience begins on the Woonasquatucket River Greenway at the Manton Pond Site, a restored area that features the Native Plant Garden, the Manton Outdoor Classroom, the Manton Fishway, and examples of stormwater management and streambank restoration. The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council transformed this site into a vibrant place for learning and recreation while advancing river restoration. The walk is open to all ages and moves at an easy, exploratory pace, usually covering about a mile. The Greenway is paved and wheelchair accessible, though it is not plowed or salted in winter. Limited parking is available at the Manton Outdoor Classroom, including handicap spots, with overflow parking nearby. There are no on-site restrooms or water. The program is primarily conducted in English.
