First on the Floor offers free beginner West Coast Swing lessons on the Michael S. Van Leesten Memorial Bridge as part of the Providence Fitness in the Parks series. The class welcomes absolute beginners, requires no partner or prior experience, and is open to the public at no cost. After the lesson, dancers continue with outdoor social dancing as the sun sets and the city lights come on, with donations appreciated for the social portion. The season includes occasional themed nights that add variety for the community. Participants are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early to check in and complete the required Providence Parks Activities Waiver. On certain dates affected by holidays or special programming, the free beginner lesson may not be offered, though social dancing or other activities may still take place.

Presented by the Parks and Recreation Division with support from Coastal Credit Union, My Greene Team, Pamela Hughes, Bandits Baseball Club, Dupuis Oil, and The Washington Trust Company, this concert is part of the Sunday Night Riverfront Concert Series at Pawtucket's Veterans Memorial Amphitheater. Expect an upbeat evening that gets people moving. Parking is available at the City Hall lot. The Parks & Recreation Division will be collecting canned goods and other nonperishable items to benefit the Blackstone Valley Food Center. Part of a summertime mini market series, this pop-up in the Shri Yoga parking lot brings together a range of local producers. The market accepts Fresh Bucks, including SNAP/EBT with Bonus Bucks, and also participates in WIC FMNP and Senior FMNP. Under the Sun Farm provides a weekly produce CSA for pickup at the market. On-site parking is free, and the location is within walking distance of a transit center and accessible by local bus service.

Robert Clarke brings a high-energy, interactive blend of comedy, magic, and juggling for audiences of all ages as part of the Slater Park Children’s Performance Series. Presented by the Parks and Recreation Division with support from Coastal Credit Union, My Greene Team, Pamela Hughes, Bandits Baseball Club, Dupuis Oil, and The Washington Trust Company, this free show takes place on the stage situated between the Park Office and the Daggett House, across from the tennis courts. The Slater Park Looff Carousel next to this location will be open during the event. If weather becomes a concern, performances may move to the Slater Park Pavilion. Families with children in grades K-5 are invited to a free community art experience at Fairlawn Veterans Memorial Park, presented by The Empowerment Factory. Each session features a read-aloud, a hands-on art project, and mindfulness activities that support emotional regulation, creativity, and collaboration. Discussions and projects highlight themes of kindness, confidence, respect, and perseverance. Walk-ins are welcome, and advance registration is appreciated. Kelly & the Poor Boys, a female-fronted tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival, performs as part of Crescent Park’s Summer Concert Series. The concert is free and open to all ages.
