At Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA, Music Worcester presents a gathering of individual singers from across the region and country alongside members of the Hartford Chorale for the third annual BACHtoberfest Choir performance that brings the BACHtoberfest Weekend to a close. Over the course of the weekend, the ensemble prepares a selection of J. S. Bach cantatas, then comes together for a culminating concert that reflects a shared dedication to Bach’s music and the unity of many voices singing as one. The program features Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern, BWV 1, Gott der Herr ist Sonn und Schild, BWV 79, and Nun danket alle Gott, BWV 192, performed by the BACHtoberfest Choir together with the Hartford Chorale. Gleichwie der Regen und Schnee vom Himmel fällt, BWV 18, is performed by the Hartford Chorale.

An outdoor West Coast Swing gathering returns to the river docks just behind the Hatch Shell, created through a collaboration that keeps social dancing thriving in this open air spot. Music plays through a speaker setup while a rotating mix of DJs and instructors guides the experience. A beginner friendly West Coast Swing lesson takes place alongside the social dancing for about 30 to 45 minutes, with part of the dock set aside for instruction. Attendees are welcome to bring friends and food and enjoy dancing by the water.

Experience a calming sound immersion in Hudson with Gina Cranford, who blends Reiki with crystal singing bowls to guide a gentle meditation. Participants settle on mats or chairs and begin with focused breathing. Gina then plays each bowl for a few minutes, moving from the root to the crown to encourage balance across the chakras. She follows with bowl combinations, both harmonious and purposefully dissonant, to support the release of stagnant energy. Reiki is offered throughout, and everyone receives a personally selected affirmation or mantra to take home. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat. Blankets and other supportive props are available at the studio. Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to get comfortable, as the session begins promptly. The cost is $30 per person. Gina is a Gendai Reiki Master and a Certified Bliss Bowls Sound Healing Practitioner. She leads In Tune Mind and Body in Berlin, holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education from the University of Connecticut, is a certified Music Together instructor, and has taught people of all ages for many years. She has participated in natural healing practices for more than two decades. Past attendees have shared that this setting helps them reach a meditative state.

Movements brings the Happier Now USA Tour to Roadrunner in Boston with Balance and Composure, Midrift, and NIIS joining the lineup. The show welcomes attendees of all ages. For each ticket sold, twenty-five cents benefits The Shout Syndicate, a Boston-based volunteer initiative that helps fund youth-led arts programs at established creative youth development nonprofits in Greater Boston. The Shout Syndicate is housed at The Boston Foundation and works in partnership with the Mayor's Office of Arts & Culture through the Boston Creates plan.

The Mini Portrait Experience includes 15 minutes of photography and one favorite image to download. After the photoshoot, choose your favorite during a Zoom video call, then receive an edited file to download. If more images or keepsakes are desired, options are available for additional digital files and printed products such as boxed prints, wall art, albums, and cards. Longer sessions and additional locations are also available.

Themed evenings feature costumes, Halloween activities for everyone, kids coloring pages, and plenty of Halloween goodies and treats. It is a friendly way to create family memories with festive activities throughout the week.

At Sanctuary Cultural Arts Center, an ever-changing roster of hosts keeps this open mic lively while the welcoming spirit stays constant. It is open to all ages, and the atmosphere is relaxed and inclusive. Musicians, comedians, poets, and spoken word artists are welcome to take the stage. There is a $10 cover that counts toward beverages. Food from nearby spots can be delivered to your table. Bringing four friends waives the cover.
